i have this honda ex5 year 2003.

so far the bike no problem. pickup not bad. my only complain, top speed
takde. after 90km/h slow betul nak naik lagi.

any idea?
what parts can be changed?
cam, port polish head?

i try not to overbore to avoid reliability problem.
any help much appreciated.

emmm sprocket? but if i go for more top speed, pick up gone.

any thing can be done to the engine?

change the block to big bore type and change to hi-cam is much much
enough than doing all other modification and doesnt harm any reliability

Hy, I also have the same problem like u with my Honda Ex5.Even after i
had change to smaller sprocket, the top speed still 90km/h.Any
suggestion ?

if i were right about ur upgrade is just for better power for daily
commute i would recomend the change of your engine block to the big bore
type..... now ur piston size if im not mistaken is 53mm the big bore will
consist of a piston and piston rings of 57mm together with the pin,pin
bearings and the block itself.... if im not mistaken the price is rm55 at
sentul not including labour to install...then u will have a 128cc bike
after tat... the cam ... if im not mistaken vary from rm35-80 bucks for
those cheapo cams...if possible try NOT to get cams of suraya brand and
uma racing cams are also ridiculuos...but if u are going for those cubprix
spec.. it would cost u around rm400 per cam... but normal upgrades the one
i mention will do good.... after tat ask them to install a mainjet of Two
size larger than wat u are using now ....(increment of 10)

i guess tats the most simplest explanation i can give.... u dun need to do
any other extensive mods if u are not those mod freak like me...

or if u dont mind... to complete and enhance the power from ur new
block ... fit in the after market ekjoz from ahm... which looks ridiculuos
if u are those family man type ....and u dun need to purchase the sp
version .. just the standard version will do good without output too loud
exhaust sounds.....those open type like mine are real loud and if u are
not a sound lover u will found out its very irritating and ur neighbours
might complaint when u come back late nite... and not to mention u go into
shopping mall carparks alot of car alarm will went off due to the loud
sound...

hello there... read about ya interest... well to be exact the honda ex5
engine has a bore stoke of 48mm. 53mm is a standard bore for kriss 110ccm.
To up grade ya engine is not just by changing the block or changing to high
cam (s4 which is in the market) you need to understand those parts. Genuine
racing parts are not easy to get.. and it cost ya a bomb to obtained it...
for example... a 100% genuine standard cam cost ya rm 100 (including 2
bearings) imagine what a 100% genuine performance cam would cost ya.. in
the market ya could find all kinna high cams for the price rage of rm 40 -
160. Now.. am not saying those cam are not design for performance but the
materials it self. it wont last. you might find it is only performing for a
certain period of time, eventually ya back to square one or even worse. It
goes the same wit the block.. if ya change a normal racing block thatís in
the market.. believe me, when ya running a long distance, ya find ya bike
is out of power. this is due to the material. it is not the material that
could hold up to high temperatures. eventually metals, as it over heats, it
will expend and increases friction between ya block and ya piston rings.
high cam is not suitable for everyday used bikes. it require massive
modification. if not ya find ya bike lagging. it is advice to modify ya
standard cam by modifying the degrees of the intake and exhaust. and as for
the block, to avoid overbore ya could change the standard slip to kriss..
this will prevent ya from overbore... for further info.. kindly e-mail

ikut pengalaman aku (EX5 91-95), cuba tukar sprocket depan dari 14 ke 16.

dalam gear 3 saja boleh naik 95kmh (meter EX5 lah).

nak tahu mengapa TZM dengan RXZ kuat? sprocket hadapan 16 gigi. SS, RG,
Panther, KRZ maximum sprocket depan leh masuk 15 aje, melainkan dibukak
cover tepi tu.

aku pakai spoket 14 depan belakang 35.sof far klu naik bukit ade kureng
sket le..klu jln haiway paling laju pun dapat 110 aje tu pun tengah mati
la payung!

install mini turbo...there's a guy at tmn bolton doing a research about
this.
he believed that a small bike can be done. they call him ali 4 stroke.

the turbo unit is smaller than the one installed in kancil..
i've done my research on this long2 ago,but the turbo is really hard to
find and costy..

mengapa orang tak mahu cuba pengalaman aku yea?
tukar sprocket depan dari 14 ke 16.

spoket 14 gear 3 leh naik 75kmh.

spoket 16 gear 3 leh naik 90kmh. gear 4 leh cecah 120kmh. badan gemuk
susahlah sket.

cukuplah tu. ex5 bukan utk kegunaan yang laju. chassis tidak stabil,
sistem brek juga tidak mantap.

aku tengok, takde saper respon pengalaman aku. tried and tested.

yamaha SS cub prix guna sprocket hadapan 22, supaya pikap dan top speed
laju. tapi brek mesti mahu kuat lah.

biar betul?sekarang ni aku pakai depan 14 belakang 35.haiway leh dapat 100
je.tu pun tengok jalan lah.tapi masalahnye tak leh maintance la speed
dia.i guest its time to change new bike but sekarang ni klu nk jual ex5

Erm.... mintak tanyer cket. Kalu depan da pakai 16, blakang pakai brape?
takkan standed 36 kowt? 16-36 pergh tak berat ke? . Org masukan 15-36 tuh
aku penah dengar lah. Tuh pown bler masuk gear 4, rase cam berat ja nak pegi.

wave100R, biar saja spoket belakang size standard tu. nanti lu ajak
member2 yg pakai standard ex5 test power. dengan selambanya motor lu akan
ke depan dari gear 1.5 (iaitu semasa gear 1 nak masuk gear 2).

masuk gear 3 member lu akan mula menggelupur dan buat muka tensen. lu leh
la lambai suruh dia kejarr..

in my honest opinion, RC100 bukanlah motor yang sesuai nak uprate. best
110 pun sama. chassis tidak stabil, brek tak cukup cengkam. so, waaupun
enjin kuat tapi tidak dapat diterjemhkan sepenuhnya ke atas jalan.

RG sport atau RGV will be a good base for modding.

using high cam .. racing clutch spring .. spoket tau tahu lagi ..

banyak kat motocycle spare part shop.. you can just ask and pay for a photo copy very cheap.. smile_wink.gif

kalu nak motor pickup dan laju, saya cadangkan anda menggunakan cam racing ex5 dan karbretor kristar, upgrade pada bahagian sini sahaja motor ex5 anda boleh mencecah kelajuan sehingga 140 atau 150 km/j. cubalah

clutch..ptong mangkuk clutch dlm 1mm,masuk clutch plate 6 keping(besi lapik clutch buang sekeping..)...
spring clutch lapik dgn washer plug keter,(setiap spring lapik 2 keping)...
spoket pakai 30,15...
insyallah..
kalo dlm 120 - 140 sng la...

paling besar 57...
pade pengalamn aku...
pakai piston 0.75...

lekuk blkg piston, ptg bg rata...(da ringan)...

itu pon da memadai...
