Hi Chris,

I've got a Mitsubishi Lancer and new Hyundai Tucson which both needs tinting... I'm looking for tints which would offer security, heat rejection and reasonable UV protection.

It would also be good if it would not pose a problem for smart tag and GPS too!

Please PM with best price and warranty.

Thanks.

Best regards
Kelvin

Hi Chris,

i just bought my car (Vios) and i got a voucher from this company named SolarTint SHop,
do you have any idea regarding the quality of this SolarTint?
May you suggest to me which brand is good for a budget below RM1500?
Appreciate your prompt reply as i want to tint my car this weekend.

Regards.

Hi Chris,

Can you advise me on Ecotint and Raytech? Also, how do they compare with V-kool elite?

I am looking for good heat rejection but yet "JPJ-friendly". Do we look at IRR rejection for heat rejection? Does higher IRR rejection mean better heat rejection? If high IRR rejection, will there be a problem with Smarttag?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

I see, thanks very much. I am thinking V-Kool too but there are a lot of imitations out there so I am afraid I might get conned.

Do you know the price difference between V-Kool Elite and V-Kool Secure? I would like to put security as well but if the price difference is a lot, then I will just put Elite.

i know of the imitation v-kool too. that's why i only fix v-kool at their authorised dealers. FYI, i fixed mine at Tint-shop USJ 7 years ago.

As for Elite and Secure, well, I am not much of a believer of any security tint. with security tint, the cost is higher, some by about 30% or even more than that; heat rejection less than what u pay for solar tint. eg u get less solar effectiveness if u pay rm1k security tint than u pay rm1k for solar tint. about it being secure, well, normal tint also dont break what, the glass is shattered but is held by the tint. maybe security tint able to tahan being shattered a bit longer, thats all.

Hmm....appreciate your valuable advice. Then maybe I will go for V-Kool Elite. My SA said about 2K+ to tint, is it ok?

Wonder where is Chris? He hasn't commented so far.

I just read here that IRR does not present an accurate value for heat rejection. For heat rejection we must look at TSER.

what car is that? Anyway the price should be whole car inclusive of FWS. For my mpv, price quoted was 2900 for whole car and FWS vkool elite. Should have juust taken that. Instead now regretting like hell evrytime i go in my car. Blardy RT tint!
