I've got both. The 1.6L is a lively car, no slouch, but like any other Japanese cars (it is Mazda based, by the way) of the same capacity it tends to run out of breath at about 140kph.
The RS 2.0L should have been a manual. But despite its auto trans it has good acceleration. Don't forget it is a 2.0 engine in a 1.6 size body, so the power to weight ratio is good. I have only pushed it to 175 kph, but some fellow owners have gone way beyond that. In a good state of tune, the fuel consumption of these two cars is on par with Japanese models of the same capacity. It is not something you should worry about. -------------------- Kleptocracy: A Government of thieves, for thieves and by thieves.

Am also considering either a 03 Ford Lynx 1.6 LS (A) or a 03 Kia Optima 2.0.... both fetch same price.
Guess Ford cost lesser to maintain. |

Hi guys, I've bought the new vios abt 4 mths back. The car is not bad. However, i'm recommending this ford to a friend on a lower budget. Can anyone give me an indication of the cars cost to run in terms of maintenance and problems. How does it fare against the 1st gen waja and also sentra ? |
