For the past 2 months, my Toyota Vois has been driving me nuts. The belt
is making noise every morning when i first start the engine. It will last
for about 5-10 mins. It is worst when rainy days, the noise can last for
the whole journey until you turn the engine off!
Is this a known problem for all Vios? How can I fix that noise?

my ex-kelisa has this problem before, you need to take the car to SC to
re-tighten the belts. Or else they will replace the new belt for you. Is
the car still under warranty?

That happens to my ex-Proton whenever it rains. Send your car to SC to
tighten the belt or get it replaced if still under warranty.

How long have you been driving your Vios?

Do you always wet your engine? ex: you spray water to clean your engine?

Cheers =)

Yowwei,
it happenned to my vios (2003 - 1st batch) last month..it was flood n i
went thru...push my car n then the noise starts fm that that onwards...but
it only last for few minutes after i start my car n then it's gone...
another time was back to last year...the belt sound very very noisy...i
drive straight to Toyota service centre to get it fix...
the ppl there is very helpful...they tighten the belt for me..but before
that, they show to me n i was shocked that the belt has already out of its
place...(sort of aircond belt)...
it was fix within 15 minutes...
You can ask the service centre for a fix on yours...cheers...Smile

azbro...
you are absolutely correct...it is the alternator belt..

i was told by the mechanic that the belt run fm it's original position..
it can be due to belt loose or was push or hit by strong water flow during
flood or whatever force...so..no doubt, can get it fixed..
