guys,

wat is the spec of wira ignition cable resistance(aka spark plug cable)??
i checked mine, 3 of them has 550~1500ohm, but one of it has only 80 ohm
(cable#2).
i had comfirmed a few times for this cable, yet, it`s only 80 ohm.
can anyone advice pls?? is it faulty?
as i read from some threads, faulty cable is related with car jerking.

TIA

Yup, weak coil cable can cause jerking to car. How you test out the ohm ?

The lower the "ohm", the lower the resistance. So, isn't that good?

but certainly 80ohm is abnormal compared to the rest.

*update*

i bought a 2nd hand ignition cables (used 2 months).

resistance of new cables (cable# printed on cable):
cable1: 175
cable2: 70
cable3: 70
cable4: 55

rechecked my old cables (used for 3.8 years):
cable1: 2800
cable2: 80
cable3: 15000

g88,
sorry, coil cable? he means spark plug cable.

ranii,
for spark plug cable, which is low in current bigh in voltage, require
high resistance. V = IR remember?

my 9yrs old wira ignition/spark cables resistance:

cable#1 - #3 : 50-57K ohm
cable#4: 75K ohm.

that is very high resistance compared to what JIGC has mention earlier.

anyone can confirm this on their newer wira before i change mine ?

king!

from workshop manual:
cable (from right to left side) 1, 2, 3 & 4 /kOhm: 11.5, 9.1, 9, 6.6
note: #1 is the longest cable.

urs cable has very high resistance, my last reading has very low
resistance....mmhhhh....
i'll recheck my old IG cable.
