Hi All,
I am wondering anyone can tell me what output and torque means? For
kelisa, it is stated as Max Output 40.5 kW / 5200 rpm and Max Torque 88.3
Nm / 3600 rpm. What does it means? Is it the power of the engine? How do I
maintain Kelisa in optimum condition based on this facts. Does it means to
change gear before the Max Torque or Max Output? What information can be
obtain from the Gear Ratio as compare to other cars (is it higher ratio
better or lower ratio better?)Thanks.

It means that the maximum power is extracted at 5200RPM and maximum
turning power; torque is at 3600RPM. How to maintain? Well, for optimum
performance normal maintenance and should be alright. Dont over rev the
engine. Change the wear and tear parts at the right mileage ...

Hello,

Maximum output mean the rpm at which the engine can gives it hogest horse
power, in our car is 55hp. Maximum torque means the rpm at which the
engine can gives its higest performance in acceleration. This means the
closer the rpm to 3600, the better the pick up of our car. According to
the graph (forgot where I read), our engine torque actually fall very fast
after 36000rpm, hence if you want to have good pick up, change your gear
after 36000 rpm since engine will lose it power very soon after 36000rpm.

The higher the horse power (hp) of a car means the car can go faster
(higher maximum speed), which might mean if the rpm has touch 5200, our
car is difficult to go any faster.....I think if a car has its maximum
torque at lower rpm (like new honda city), the car will have good FC since
engine is easier to pick up at normall driving rpm (2000-3000), otherwise
the engine will work very hard to push the car to pick up which will burn
more fuel in this case....:)

Well, this is what I read before, maybe someone can add more comment.

Have a nice day.

i heard ppl say kelisa actually can win Iswara 1.3 in pick-up. Then ppl
also says torque = the pick-up power.....then when i go n see, i notice
iswara torque is larger than the kelisa....someone explain....if kelisa
lose this 1, i'll change my plan of getting 1....lol

pick up dun just depend on torque but also weight, gear ratio, wheel
diameter, tyre air pressure etc.

but then, i wud think the kelisa can win iswara in a 0-100km/h drag

Try and see, belum cuba belum tahu Wink

I mean the Kelisa and Iswara la..Hehehehhe..But personally I think the
Kelisa has better pick up than the Iswara. I have driven them both as the
Iswara is my brother punya ex car....

If the Iswara is manual, I doubt so, at least that's what I've tried out.
If its the Iswara 1.5(A), probably.

Well... I previously drive an Iswara 1.3 and the pickup on Kelisa is very
powerful for 1st and 2nd gear. But somehow at 4th and 5th gear lost out
maybe because I normally change gear at 3rpm instead of 3.5rpm. Cannot
tahan the loud noise ... I know that for Iswara changing gear at 2 or
2.3rpm is the best but for Kelisa ...No no... must wait to 3rpm or more
otherwise no power. Look at fuel efficiency... I get 450km for RM35...that
is a real value for money and beat Kancil flat. :)

Hello,

Maximum torque at 3600rpm doesn't mean that we must change gear after that
rpm, it just a guide line to let us know at which rpm the car will have
better pick up power.....for my car, and for my driving style, auto gear
normally change to 2nd at 2000rpm, 3rd at 2300rpm, 4th at
2500rpm......even never more than 3000rpm, the car still can pick up
well....

I notice when the rpm more than 2750 at 3rd gear (auto), I can feel a
sudden increase in power.......all the way to 4000rpm if I press the pedal
hard to prevent it engage gear 4 ....don't know anyone have this
experience???

....and if I press very hard at gear 1....the rpm actually manage to
increase very fast to 4000rpm, really enjoy the power of our small car at
low speed....hahaha....
Well, just sharing some exp........Have a nice day
