My Sonata 2.0 L Fuel Consumption is 54L (Rm 104)Shell petrol for 400km
town driving.

This works out to 7.4 km per liter or 26 cents per km.

Is this FC comparable for your sonata 2.0L?

TQ

Wah lau eh,

Your Sonata very thirsty wan meh? My Sonata 2002 GLS is about 0.18 sen/km

Well that is after some mod to the car lah. So it's true that the new
Sonata is bloody thirsty - 26 sen/km is my Harrier 1998 3.0 2WD FC.

You better mod your car or you did a wrong calculation.

What modifications you recommend to reduce the FC?

T think that figure quite normal for 2L car (any marque) for town driving.

GreenT,

I've done

1. Grounding + volt stablizer
2. change the plugs to denso irridium
3. install a vortex generator from the air filter
4. did a regular decarbonizing
5. use fully synt lube

Soon

1. ECU programming
2. Fuel saver
3. K&N drop in filter

My suggestion is - if your car is new i.e less than 6mths. Hold on to the
mods. Only start when you are closer to a year or more.

Hi all,

A lot of talks on this voltage stabilizer and grounding and saving the FC
by 10 -15%.

Some people say the voltage stabilizer and grounding is not necessary,
and is not effective!

Any experts would like to give your valuable comment on it?

probably good for old carbie cars. won't make any difference with modern
computer controlled cars. Your air fuel is fully controlled by the ECU
not the voltage. haha!

Hi all,

When do we need to reprogram ECU? or do we need to reprogram it at all?

Hope car experts in this forum will rpovide your opinions, TQ.

Hi Greentea,

To me why reprogram the ECU when there is nothing wrong? Do not stir the
hornets nest if you do not want to get sting.

What is important is to send for regular servising, tyre pressure check
every 2 weeks. Once a week take a peek in the bonet to check for any
fluids leakage, Check that drive shaft rubber booth is not torn. The
beltings are not loose.

I have posted my sonata fuel consumption under Korean car fuel usage. For
town driving my sonata cost about 27sen/KM. Whereas long distance ranges
from 16 sen to 17 sen/km.

I think this is normal for a 2.0 litre car. Those with 5 speeds auto
tyranny will of course consume less.

If you want to save on fuel cost, then use a diesel car.

Cheers!
