Dear Sifus of Autoworld Forum,

I came across a local shop offering 17' OEM Inspira Rim with stock tyre 215/50 R17 (80% remaining).
Shop asking for RM1900 (before trade in).
I am currently driving Inspira 2.0P 16inch stock rim Conti CC5 205/60 R16 (40% used).
Is this deal worth it? Any opinions appreciated.

Thank you.

Second hand after market 17" rims will cost around 800 to 1k, that means you are getting the tyres at about RM250 each.
The price is not bad but only 80% balance and MC5 are just mid range tyres.
How much you trading in your 16"?

Do take note....tires are best when 100% down to 80%.
That's the best rubber. Anything lower than that means oledi reached half life.
But the looks of the tire its still good. Maybe for 8~10 months depending on your driving

MC5 tires I would avoid smile.gif
Many customer claim for it. Cos most Peugeot cars come with MC5 (instead of CSC3) and I go to the service center got see many claims.
But if no choice than you have to check the tire pressure regularly.

Alamak, CSC3 last time was a pain for PUG308T owners, now MC5 also?

Sifu, thought that the CS3 was fun to drive, good grip, etc but short life span only?

A lot of bulging issues. Many members and friends also complain..... smile_blackeye.gif
Especially the ones that came with the PUG308T.
My ex colleague tried CSC5 the later model on his accord had cracked sidewall.... smile_shock.gif
Just last week another ex colleague sister on the Passat (235/45R17) came to my house show me on of the CSC3, bulge on the sidewall and puncture already. Arrange for her to change to Asy2 this week.... smile_wink.gif

hence....continental tyre is among my "stay away" list....brand is promising...but the product itself...naaahhhhh....later next time i drop by at nearby tyreshop i'll take the picture of cout-out pieces of a few common brand tyre show how was the sidewall made....

continental is sooooo thinnnnnnnn smile_dead.gif

might be better go for cheaper yet durable and not far off in term of comfort compared to continental...

Actually,

They Conti oledi improve the side walls oledi....but what happen is, they made it too thick for the MC5....then this happens:
Tire deflate and ppl still drive cos dunno.

Many claims oledi...

But I hope Conti can get it right for the next newer tires.
Conti tires are good for smooth roads, but Malaysia road standards are simply awful.
