The car is still consider new coz less than 6 mnths and the mileage only 7000km +. If not mistaken i heard one case on LPT last yer. One side of the car hv to be replace coz hit the divider! There are many factors that lead to accident. I assume your uncle is using the original tyres which might be the Continental Comfort Contact 1. So, don't expect marvellous aquaplanning resistance or grip. Secondly, it could be attributed to driving skills and sanity smile_big.gif . I have a Sylphy and have never driven above 80km/h whether it's in the rain or going through puddles of water. Might drive above 110km/h in the rain if the Sylphy is fitted with the Michelin Pilot Sports 3. smile_tongue.gif Sylphy is meant to be driven gently in all circumstances. Boy racers are not encouraged to own one unless you are getting the Impul version (that time one might complain back/ass pain) 059.gif

In rain, it depends on how deep the water on the roads and direction of the flow of water and if you've studied physics before, it explains a bit on aquaplaning when a car goes through a large puddle of water after certain speed.. so it's not due to any poor handling etc and if you've noticed even posh German cars crash during heaving rain.

My uncle's car using the Yokohama tyre. I remembered when i was driving my dad's Pug 405 up north to Kangar 13 yrs back. Was driving @ 140km/h, suddenly near Gurun hit the water puddle but gone thru without any drama!!! That time the tyre was GY Eagle GA only! smile_tongue.gif When going thru the water u can feel the steering a bit firmer and feel the car really secure on the road. The road holding is SUPERB!!!!

As far as I know, Sylphy doesn't have traction control. Did your uncle instinctively press the brake pedal when it aquaplane? And was it at a curve?

If yes, that could be the cause. Normally when this happens, you'll need to let the car gain traction for some distance after hitting a puddle of water.

Fxxk this Kwar... asking a stupic question here!!! Skid on wet can occur at many type of car. It depends on how deep is the water, how good is your tyre, how good is the driver, how good is the traction control manage (if equipped). Diu!!

guys, so far i have driven sylphy for the past 2 years and have no issue on road handling. It's a nice and comfortable car with good performance.

the accident cen be due to many factors, i think the most important is the actual road condition.
