Vios running on timing belt or chain?

timing belt is the one that is covered (with black plastic cover etc) at
one side of the engine. The outer beltings is all rubber/composite= moving
water pump, alternator, power steering, air-cond compressor. Those never
use chain.

the noisy timing chain (like those used in early days) sounded like
shaking coins in a metal container. chain also can break.

my father mazda 808 once had the timing chain broken (long time ago). the
mileage already 500K++ km.

just follow the manual and everything gonna be alright
