Nah, this car (Ford Focus) seems to wear everything at the rear faster than at the front! The rear brake pads also wore faster. First set of Nexen N8000s lasted 14K kms. The original Goodyear NCT5 OEM tyres only ran for 21K kms.
Feels like it - but will confirm with my fren after pumping up to the normal tyre pressures. When the car moved from 4x Nexen N8000s to 2x Nexen, 2x C-drive 2, ride quality was not very much different.
However, after moving from 2x Nexen and 2x C-drive 2 to 2x C-drive 2 and 2x Ecopia, the ride felt more comfortable.
You mean even without rotation the rears wears faster? Rear Alignment ok?
Many complain C-Drive 2 too soft already.....

Yes, no rotation.
Alignment done by SDAC, wear rate higher. Alignment done by outside workshop improved wear rate slightly. But rears still wear faster than fronts.
C-drive 2 has better wear rate than Nexen N8000. So cost per km is lower, even though it is more expensive than the N8000.

Nexen is Korean so is cheaper, but N8000 is UHP, C-Drive 2 is Mid under HP....

I am also driving FFocus MK2 with spirited drive most of the time ......and I can get 30K-40K km average out of 3 replacement sets I have done so far. And is not touching the TWI.
Ur friend tyre wear rate seems abnormal. I know a few Focus owner, most tyre change is at 40k km region.

I know got one time my friend's Accord the rear finish off faster then the front, then when fitting new tyres and did alignment found the rear alignment really out by a lot. Second set lasted much longer....

Yes this is the first time I encountered a FWD car (any brand/model) where the rear tyres wear out faster. And the same goes for the brake pads. Normally one would see the front wheels covered in brake dust. But this car has rear wheel brake dust!
SDAC cannot explain the reasons why tyre wear is so high... As for brake dust, they just said it is different brake pad material. My own car's tyres also last 40K but I usually change at 35K due to hardening rubber - I am a low mileage user...

Yup I know - RM 280 for Nexen N8000 and RM 320 for Yoko CD2. Yet Yoko costs less per 100 kms of motoring....

Yah! Nexen have worse wear rate.....
