My method for calculating FC:
1) Fill up to full tank until the nozzle automatically stops;
2) Use the car until the tank is empty again;
3) Go back to the same petrol kiosk and the same pump (if possible). This
is to ensure the same level of sensitivity for the pump to stop
automatically again.
4) Fill up the tank until the pump nozzle automatically stops again.
5) Repeat the process as many times as you wish. Since it is the same
brand of petrol, the same kiosk and the same pump, the level of fuel
at "full tank" condition should be the same.
6) After a few trials, you should have some reasonably accurate figures
to work out the average FC of your car.
This is what I called controlled experiment. Cheers.

Fuel calculation is okay. Just to share my experience on monitoring of
fuel, I have done it for years and over several cars. I experience a lot
of unexplainable figures as there are also some variable everytime. You
have eliminate quite a number of variables by using the same pump etc.
which is good. However unexplainable variable like delivery speed,
viscosity, ??? by petrol station owner, etc is something beyond our
control.
My suggestion will be to monitor consumption over at least 10 tanks of
usage and take an average and keep repeating the process.
Sorry for raising the doubt as I have heard too many claims that my
consumption is high, my is low on the basis of feel esp when you quantify
RM 50.
Hopefully my contribution here can get me some free durian.
Rgds.

Just to share my experience with all driver
I consistencely monitor my car petrol, and lately I found
everytime I go to that particular petrol station, I lost
4KM/L (Normally for my car is 10KM/L +/-0.5KM/L in any petrol
station except this one - Shxll in Relau besides Petrona).
Few on my friends saw the same effect. We strongly believe that
something wrong with this Shxll in Relau, I don't want to comments
to much, you should know what I means here.

I agree with U,not only you facing this problem at Shell relau,a lot of my
friend also advised me not to go to this patrol station.I saw at this
forum last time a lot of forum member complain about shell petrol...less km
compare with others. For me I only use Petronas or ESSO/MOBIL.My previous
experiance with ALFA 155 ESSO and MOBIL is the best for power.Petronas
also not bad.

Check your tire pressure and adjust to correct pressure. Serena comes with Bridgestone Ecopia, give good mileage on top of techron95.
May I also suggest you give your Serena a good paint protective coating and waxing. Smooth surface reduces drag and improve fuel consumption.
Does your Serena have a spoiler? Spoiler reduces drag behind, hence, fuel saving.

May I suggest you try Caltex Techron95, gives better mileage than other brands.

Actually spoiler increases drag because spoilers create down force for stability. Look at Bugatti Veyron high speed test, to do top speed they bring lower the spoiler.....
