my Iswara door knob is broken after 11 years. I bought the replacement parts but I don't know how to install it.
The door knob I am talking about is the small inner up/down door lock knob inside the door. The replacement parts is a short plastic which looks like I just have to snap it in forcefully.
How do I install this knob? Should I use a plier to forcefully pull up the broken knob, then push in the new one?

Not too sure, but I think is screwed in type. You will have to remove the door panel, so that you have room to unscrew the old one, then screw in new one, then replace door panel.....my 2 sen

That is correct! Open the door panel. Then, just screw it out. I have done it.

What a coincidence.

I was just looking at this today on my brother's Iswara.

The small square plastic perimeter socket around the knob also has
a tendency to break off at its feet. I had to replace the one on my
rear left door today.

Had a very tough time pushing it in - the cheap $ 1 replacement socket seems
to have too tight a fit, and the side clips are very stiff too.

I tried using a pliers to bend the side clips a bit, but pressed too hard
and it broke. So I just pushed the whole thing into the hole and glued
the top edge.

The front passenger door's know also broke off some time ago, but
I used some polystyerene cement to glue it back, and it seems to hold.

Mine broke quite some time ago, but not Iswara. Since it is old Mitsu, getting the parts will be difficult, so I open up, took out the broken part glue them bad and then fit it back. So far so good, has been years anyway.... smile_thumbup.gif

The replacement part (usually MT brand) is very tight fit compared to the original Proton one. Yeah, unscrew the plastic by turning anti-clockwise from the metal rod after you open the door panel. The procedure is the same as for Wira.
