Guys, I know this thread is very very old...but got to ask this. Anyone
knows what are the 'rules' for replacing a spoiled road tax, ie. whether
it's chargeable, what do I need to prove ownership, etc? Or where can I
find more information on this.

Did my tinting but workmanship was not good....went back to the shop to
replace the tint and the shop torn a portion of it...anyway, the disc
started 'peeling' at the edges under hot sun...I guess that's where they
tried their luck in peeling it off.

Hm... got an idea.

You can stick the new road tax sticker exactly the same old place. It's
kind of stupid but at least only one place on the wind screen got problem.

The cost of replacing a new road tax is RM50 and you need the documents like when you want to renew your road tax

I did mine 4 mths ago. I didn't encounter much problem on it. The road
tax sticker was broken, and it didn't leave any stain there.

Is it legal to stick the road tax onto a plastic and then attach it to the
windscreen?...meaning not sticking the road tax directly onto the screen.
I'm deciding whether to insist the tint shop to pay for the replacment of
my road tax since they torn it...the shop says it's ok for the road tax to
be torn and attaching it with the plastic....but I'm worried it's easier
target for thieves since it can be removed easily. what should i do?

Unless the roadtax print were fading away, JPJ will replace with a new
one for free. Just bring the fading road tax with registration card.

Will we get problems with the law if it's torn?...it's not very obvious but
it's still torn....and not attached in the 'right way'. I was just thinking
if it doesn't matter, it can be stolen and torn in the process...but if the
thieves glues it back together then it's alright?
