Hope never have to get to use it....ha! ha! smile_big.gif smile_big.gif

Got me self registered. And got me self a 30% discount. All done from my computer within 5 minutes. Not bad and myeg will provide a statement which they
say can use as proof of payment and will be accepted by Bukit Aman in the event the PDRM's summon database is 'late' being updated.

I still have 9 summonses but has no plan to pay unless I cannot renew my roadtax then I will pay. After a few years it will be deleted from the database.

You can check your JPJ & Police summonses using either rileks or myeg. It used to be 3 companies but myspeed was already bought over by myeg (PERNEC was the main shareholder for myspeed but the management was so stupid and sold off the company). Eventhough myspeed has the most secure system and the most complete in terms of reports generated, but due to the management who are not business savvy, the company folded and bought over by myeg. Myeg is very business-savvy where they are able to do business at lower cost by partnering with driving institutes and driving schools for JPJ online test-taking. Myeg also invested in PDX (the only Gateway Provider) therefore, they are able to have advantage over its competitors.

These 3 companies (which collectively called "Service Providers" were given a concession to provide online services by the government for the period of 15 years. The concession will expire in 2015 if I remembered the agreement correctly. The whole project was supervised and monitored by "Lead Agency", MAMPU.

These 3 companies actually accessing the same database thru a "Gateway Provider" PDX.com.

For phase 1 implementation, not only JPJ & Police summonses, you can also pay access TNB, Telekom bills online using their systems. Eventhough the was one bank which claimed they was the fisrt to be able to display TNB bills online, it was not true, Thru eservices system, we have been able to display TNB and Telekom bills since early 2000.

For phase 2 implementation, the system should be able to interface with Ministry of Health and other agencies. But I do not know what is happening now since I left this field since 2003. I was one of the guys who work on the system design and development of the whole eservices.

Very informative.

One thing I noticed was that when we went to the payment screen, it was not a secured site ie not https. Made me felt doubtful at first. Only when I was directed to my bank's 3rd party online verification site then I felt a bit more confident.

I know there are some debate on the merits of https but if I'm not mistaken it is generally accepted that online transaction should be done via https.

rdgs,

During the 2000 - 2003 period, out of the 3 companies (i.e., myeg, Komms which is rileks, and myspeed), myeg was the least secure. The most secure at that time was myspeed. Unfortunately, when it is the most secure and difficult to do lesen terbang, you will lose customers. Most customers moved to myeg for JPJ services. All transaction pages for myspeed.com was https (i.e., using SSL or TLS).

myspeed (www.speed.com.my or www.eservices.com.my) was the first to implement CVC checking, during that time no Malaysian payment website implement that. myspeed implemented CVC checking was due to 70% of the bill payment using credit card was fraudulent payment. myspeed had to stop online payment just to find the solution. At the time, MEPS payment gateway (this was before the implementation of National Internet Payment Gateway) can only handle 4 transaction per second, whereas myspeed payment server can handle 60 transactions per second. Therefore there were instances where credit card was charged a few times for the same transaction. Another problem was payment was made using stolen credit cards.

When CVC was to be implemented, the CVC checking could only be done for the cards which were issued by Acquiring Bank (i.e., the designated bank for that particular Service Provider). For example, if you are using Citibank credit card, the CVC number cannot be verified since citibank was not the acquiring bank for these service providers. Another way to reduce fraudulent transaction was to use AVS (Address Verification System). The AVS was even more problematic to implement since the billing address was not sent for verification. The only information sent for verification were card number, expiry date, and cvc number and also name on the card.
