Hi Getz 1.3 and 1.4 owners,

I am starting this topic for all of us GETZ OWNERS to gather here and discuss about everything that's related to this great car. I am sure most of you know that there was another forum available but it sorta died. (http://www.getzclub.com.my/forum/) The website was hijacked by spams and the last i checked, it can no longer be accessed. I am also sure most of us getz owners have tried to search through the net for a reliable resource of our problem solutions but to no avail. Lets make this thread our main source of reference. In the long run, it will be beneficial to all of us Getz owners.

I am sure of this car, if maintained properly with good advise and knowledge sharing, can last for a very long time.
SO pls drop in here and share your views or post your questions so we can all share to provide input.

Just a bit about my car - its a getz 1.4 limited edition with the yellow leather seats and white colour. Also i have a yellow 1.3 cbu.

Thank you and i hope this thread can grow bigger. Take care.
thanks, Jude...

Hi thr. I am also a Getzer. 1.3 cbu since dec 2003. Juz to share my experience and honestly, hope everyone able to enjoy what Getz can offer. Up to this point I'm writing here, i've clock 249 500KM. On 15th Nov 2011, I have to say good bye ald....selling it.

Throughout my driving life, no doubt i really really love this car; size, design, good ride, stability, and the amazing low cabin and wind noise! Practical for city drive and parking, comfortable long trip (even with full load and luggage). Torture? I was industrial sales, so 140kmh non-stop from JB to KL few times, driven to Genting for fun in full load friends with air cond on TWICE.

My car, i never/yet service the Air cond but amazingly is still today working fantastic, power window NEVER FAIL BEFORE, radiator fan motor NEVER FAIL BEFORE and is STILL WORKING VERY STRONG, radiator fluid change every 4 months, waterpump change once(p.wira parts), only once the engine rocker cover gasket was replaced due to leak, battery in the alarm key never change, engine is still quiet and only recently notice some reduction of engine lubricant, wiper never change before since 2004(silicone).

With such mileage, the panels, dashboard, doors are still very tough and solid! Engine have no problem before, juz normal service wear and tear. But up to the point, the gearbox starts to give problem AGAIN...cheap refurb GB done in 185 000km (u may have notice my thread in the Automotive Maintenence forum). I would like to fix it and keep this car but to my current situation, no choice but to let go...sob sob..actually i plan to do another round of refurb at M-scope Gombak, reputable quality GB refurb, but plan run wide...

At this mileage, you can bet I'm quite often to workshop to maintain it in tiptop cond. Of coz also change many parts. I also have some mods on the audio and some power improve gadget. For cost saving in the long run, i do keep some common parts I bought from Hyundai spare part shop. I used to purchase genuine from Hyundai Warehouse at Glenmarie.

So since I'm selling my dear Getz, i think is better to letting go some maitenence parts in hand to other Getzers (oil filter-Mobis, Timing belt and bearing which is actually just about to change). I have also this K&N drop in filter, that noticeable improved mid range acceleration between 80kmh to 130kmh. Fuel consumption slight improve or at least maintained. For your info now the car is doing 0.178sen/km 100% city, and few months back 0.138sen/km highway KL-PG-KL. All in Ron 95. (mind you 15 inch rim and GB refurbed in 2009). All this is for Getz 1.3 cbu. Not sure for 1.4. If you want these parts, I'm offering it off on 'satu kali angkat' basis. All items have receipt as proof purchase. You may PM me for further discussion/nego. FYI I work in Ipoh road KL, live in Sg Long.

Overall, this car can be a pleasent drive as long you give good care. I wonder Getzer out there have greater mileage than mine....hehe...

The power steering is trully 'assisted' only. It should be heavier than most car. But if it is as heavy as Nissan Sunny or old Proton Iswara, then need to check the oil grade whether correct or not.
