Driving Nissan Frontier Is Very Frustrated !!!

The Nissan Frontier is absolutely the fastest and the most powerful pick-
up truck, even I’d tried to race with the Isuzu D-Max which having 3.0L
engine and absolutely the D-Max crying along the road like a baby and very-
very unable even to getting near the SMOKES coming from the akzos of the
Frontier. But…!!! That is all… nothing other..!!! The worst quality pick-
up truck in Malaysia…!!!!! (only the engine is best)
I’d been drove my Frontier for 1yr 4 months. It’s a very-very disappointed
car…!!!! Even my old Proton Saga 1991 is better than this Frontier..!!!
The worst quality pick-up truck in Malaysia. There are noises every where…
from the Dash board + Door & Door’s cover + accessories + aircond vent +
and from the front and rear cabin and almost every where. There also a
sounding coming from the aircond compressor through the aircond vent
especially when the aircond termo-start is on. Just for the year 2004, I’d
been bring my Frontier 4 times to the workshop for the Re-alignment and
still there are serious tyre wear especially on the front right tyre. I’d
also change the absorbers to the Old Man absorbers and still not much
different. Just recently, my bolt-joint cover(the rubber) has been leaky
and the oil-gress came out… the Tan Chong Workshop said that is not
including in the Warranty. My Frontier is mostly drove on the highway and
sometimes(once in 2 months) going for soft gravel road to my parent’s in-
law house. Is there any Frontier’s owners who experienced this very low
quality of NISSAN FRONTIER. I’d been in my friend’s FORD RANGER recently,
and found out that the cabin is very-very quite, the door is very well
fitted and tough and very hard too. I can say the quality inside the cabin
of the FORD RANGER compare to NISSAN FRONTIER is like a MITSIBISHI CAR
compare to a PROTON SAGA.

PC10,

I drive a Nissan Frontier. You're right - engine, shiok habis. But the
vehicle is too soft to take offroad unless it's easy tracks. By the way,
if you have alloy wheels, make sure you use a torque wrench to tighten
the studs. Wrong pressure (too high) and they snap, I had that problem
when speeding to Singapore on highway. Very dangerous. Even the service
people at the Nissan service in PJ didn't know about this.

Diesel trucks are not meant to be raced, they're suppose to be abused,
scratch (adoi sakit hati saya..hehe), rammed by a volvo from the back, go
medium core offroad...u name it..as the other nitty gritty noises in ur
cabin..get used to it lar...it's diesel characteristics lar...

Okay lah wolfgecko I stand corrected! Welcome to the forum.

As for the frontier comments...I am surprised there were so many problems
mentioned by the ori post.

From my observation of the three frontiers in LGO trips they look capable
tackling obstacles and mind you not the soft ones but those rated medium
and higher!

Eventhough my FRONTIER is just 1yr 4months old, driving it's like driving
a 20 years old Proton Saga.. kekkek..domdom..ngiokngiok...(sounding)..
very far a way compare to FORD RANGER, D-MAX & New HILUX. Try close the
door from inside the cabin with both eyes close for FRONTIER, FORD RANGER,
D-MAX & New HILUX.. you can hear how their sound.. (sound)DUP..!!!!..wow
good car..!! that are FORD RANGER, D-MAX & New HILUX.. kedrong-renggg..!!!
yakk..!!! cheap car..!!!! Oh no...!!!!! It's a NISSAN FRONTIER..!!!!!

Hey keewes,

Actually the Frontier's pretty ok if you ignore the little sounds. Killer
engine - which is what makes it go, especially if it has the right tyres.
But gotta watch it if you pulling someone out with winch, might yank your
whole front panels out of whack because of the weight. Also, ground
clearance not that great lah. Overall though, it's not that bad. However,
service at Tan CHong sucks, though.
