I still would like a scooter someday but probably not for the next 2-3 years (hopefully the gts300i will be here by then).
Anyway guys, I'm glad to have been a part of this effort and am proud to have kept the pledge. Will still be dropping in every now and then. Wanna wish all of you Selamat Hari Raya and safe riding always.

I went to Mforce today to check the SYMPHONY 250i at same time doing my VTS 200 maintenance.
The bike chassis is totally similar to GTS/VTS 200 i thot is gonna be bigger!! Heheheheh.
Here are some new features for SYMPHONY 250i:
1. Twin Head Lamp/Head Lamp Cover
2. Back Rest
3. EFI Engine
4. Button Seat Release (at left handle)
5. Safety Switch (under your seat compartment beside the lamp)
6. 13" Rear Tire/Rim
7. New Braking System ( if you use REAR brake the FRONT brake will brake at the SAME TIME, but NOT when you use for
FRONT brake only FRONT brake will perform)
8. Fog Light (the switch is next to the Emergency Switch)
9. New Meter Panel 180km / Blue light (if im not mistaken)
10. Painted Side Mirror
11. Symphony 250i Sticker/ SYM Logo (@ side cover at foot platform)
12. Bigger Exhaust (Black Color with rubber heat protection)
13. Bigger Swing Arm
14. Bigger Profit for MFORCE!!!!
Cheers!!

Fyi the retail price is RM16.8K NOT including insurance, road tax, registration fee and no plate. Estimation about 17k++
Frankly, ill accept that price if they using bigger chassis instead reusing the GTS/VTS chasis and cover set!
Thanks.
Cheers!!

Bro, of course laa bro...it was a joke!!! We check the website all the time. My point is, if they still using the same chassis and some of cover set why still expensive???? Just because of the TECHNOLOGY the price can be double up!!?? Doesnt make sense at all.
For example, a Hline Satria Neo 1.6M cost about RM52k++ and the Satria Neo CPS cost about RM60K++ both using the same chassis but different TECHNOLOGY. PROTON dont sell it at RM102K (double price) just because of new TECHNOLOGY!! Since you are working in Automotive Industry im sure you should know better bout this.
Same goes to Nouvo S and Nouvo LC...Different TECHNOLOGY but the price is not double!!!
Do you know GTS/VTS 200 spare parts is damn expensive?? A set of front LED lamp will cost you about RM400++ and the air filter is RM32.90???? The front bulb will cost you RM50. If Mforce is very smart, they will lower down the Symphony 250i price and focus more on the accessories. More rider rides the SYM bike the more volume of sales they can achieved.
p/s: If you do a modification by yourself the warranty is void even for the alarm or install the fog light by your own. Unless your bike is >10,000km or >1year which ever come first

Even though it will not affect the resale value, one has to top up a whole lot more to upgrade to the Symphony.
This defeats the gain from the better resale value.
Most new scooter owners will want to start at a lower capacity and initial outlay.
Then upgrade later as they gain more confidence.
With such a big difference, one would think many times before doing so.
At that price, I would consider a proper bike, rather than a scooter as the riding dynamics are anytime better.
Also the comparo prices are not fair. The new Symphony cost 78% more than the GTS200..
If the 1.5M cost 78% more than the 1.3M carburettor, then it would be priced at RM62,000 vs RM35,000.
Now which would one choose?
Thanks for summing up in so many words. A most astute observation. There's no clear pathway to an easy upgrade now. The doors are thrown wide open for anyone who would come in to capitalize on this opportunity. Any supplier/ manufacturer who can slot in a 250cc machine between 10 and 15k would have a captive market now & absorb the pent up demand left by u know who. Modenas are u listening??
