Just an update, I had my steering rack replaced with a new one after few months wait, apparently its a revised version they told me, it did feel a bit more weightier than before, which i like, about 1 month later, the knocking noise came back, though it is not as bad as previously, it is still an annoyance to me, I have taken the car back to BMW, they said they don't have another solution at the moment. So can only wait and see...... 689.gif

the steering issue is a design flaw. or at least it is a design tolerance flaw.

i noticed that only Malaysian drivers complains about the steering noises where as other countries are not.

however, BMW owners in India are complaining as well.

so it means that when BMW designed their cars, they didnt take into account of pot-hole ridden roads like Malaysia and India.

the latest BMW 3 series looks good but i think the quality of old is long gone.

fuel economy is: 10km/l

its only fun when accelerating in a straightline, around corners it rolls.

if you read UK reviews saying BMW 3 is the best thats because they have the optional suspension.

Last week I drove my brothers brand new 328 Msport. The car is madly powerful. However i was disappointing with steering feel and feedback. There was no feel, just very light. Sorry but it felt like my Vios!

Bro, you should have press the Sports mode for tighter steering. i know becasue i'm driving one.

the steering is heavier but there's still no feedback.

the steering of the 328i is as limp as a Vios, the grace-saving actually comes from the Chassis setup which gives it confidence but the steering is nothing compared to the one from the E90.

You see complaints in Australia and US also, so its not just us. and it does rolls and too bouncy for my liking, I'd changed the H&R springs but now cause of this steering issue and the dealer don't like my having it on I had to swap it back to stock, until this steering issue is sorted out, which gotten me a bit upset I can't enjoy how I wanted the car to feel. If this was US or Aust the dealer cannot say anything as this is not caused by the modification. Malaysia Boleh..... boleh taichi everything.

Tks for the suggestion. Will try it out. But my complaint is that the steering is too light without much feel and feedback.

The latest 3 series has poorer steering than c250 and IS250

It is better than a4 though
