Hi, bosses.
I have bought a 2nd hand waja of year 2004 1.6(A) recently. Yesterday, I found a problem on my waja.
The indicator light of Reverse gear on the dashboard is always half on(not fully lighted up) once I touched my break when the front lamp is on even the gear is actually on "D". it also result my left turning indicator flash faster than the right when the problem comes up. When the from lamp is off The R indicator will disappeared .

I have tried to shut down the engine, , Problem still comes up when the engine is off. I have found a unprofessional Machn, he told me its may caused by the ECU, ask me to replace my ECU.

By the way. Today, When i parking, When I change the gear from R to D, it has waited about 1 sec to successfully switch into D...

Is there anybody who have the same problem, or some advise for me. I'm a bit afraid the problem is coming from the gear box but not the ecu.

I'm no pro, but what I learnt from my gearbox specialist is that there are two computers - ECU and gearbox computer.

My own WAJA gearbox computer is also faulty now so I have no gear indication, but it drives ok so my mechanic recommended that I don't worry about it.

So I don't think it's an ECU problem and this mechanic of yours will spend your money and probably still not fix the problem.

If it is taking longer than usual to change gear, can i ask you when was the last time you replaced the auto transmission fluid?
The slow gear change can probably be fixed by servicing the oil.

Finally find a gearbox specialist to troubleshoot your waja problem.
There are a couple of shops in Kuchai Lama that I know you can try...

Is your parking light always on as well?

Thanks for your advise. I think the previous Owner Changed the Transmission Oil 4000km before, I have checked the oil today, Still very clean. Every indicators is working fine but the R. and when I change to gear R, The car will have a big shock before the gear successfully Changed sometimes, and the R light will be a bit brighter. Could you please give me the location of the Transmission specialist you know. I will go there place tomorrow morning.

Also, transmission fluid and engine fluid are two different things.. There is no easy way for non-mechanics (like you and me) with no tools to check the transmission fluid..

Quote from a previous post by me:

Call Ah Fai from Xtreme Gearbox Performance
0126026766
No 12, Jalan Kuchai Maju 6 Kuchai Dynasty..
Cheapest for all service, oil and gearbox specialist..
Saved me money on my service and repairs for my complicated 1.8 Renauilt engine Waja.

I went to a different mechanic in USJ last year to service, fully synth oil and gearbox oil, cost me 500 bucks already.
Ah Fai charged me around just half for the fully synth oil and gearbox oil...

He can be a little busy at times so book ahead - only means a lot of people look for him if he's always busy

Problem seams to be solved by replacing a lamp at rear..... I have tested the car for 2days. No more problem
