Was thinking to get Toyota Altis 1.6 2007 car 2006 manufactured model or get this!

Altis is fully leather and will likely have better resale value than this, but this is more cool and new.

In term of HP i think Cerato will outperform Altis 1.6 2007 manufactured right?

We can't justify the performance of Forte/Cerato 1.6 will outperform Altis 1.6 because Forte is heavier than Altis 1.6 (2001 until 2007 model). You will find it out yourself after test drive both cars and decide which one is will be yours favourite.

Just my own opinion, Altis 1.6 you are looking for is an used car and has already been driven 2 or 3 years. Price of Altis 1.6 should around RM70k (Facelift Mode). I do agree Altis has a better resale value compared to Korean car but you buy a car and sell it after 2 to 3 years. If resale value and full leather are the only things concern to you then you should go ahead for the altis. In fact, not many people demand for 1.6 Altis cos Altis 1.8 is much value for money.

The spec between Forte 1.6 SX and Altis 1.6 are much different. Forte spec were include Stability Control, 17inchs rim, steptronic, bigger engine output, wider body, longer wheelbase, keyless push start etc. These equipments you should take consideration and you can always purchase full leather from manufacturer or outside leather specialist at around 2k.

As this is a new car where you should find the maintenance free for 2 or 3 years compared to an used car will most likely no warranty given. Tyres, balancing, engine oil, gear oil and other mulfunction parts will surely need to be done after you get an used car. If you buy from used car dealer, most of them will ADJUST the mileage e.g driven 40k for 4 or 5 years. You may not know the truth why the previous owner sold the car. I personally will never believe on the selling reason due to the owner migrate to oversea (do you think there are many people migrate to oversea). Bank loan interest is another matter should concern with where used car always given higher interest rate compared to new car.

The Forte 1.6SX was selling around RM82k which is so where around City and Vios G spec and yet the spec it offer the comparable to Civic (of course 5 speed trans and I-VTEC is a selling point of Civic). I was think of getting an used Altis 1.8 next year after planning for a year. However I will hold up my money and may give a try to new Forte 1.6SX or 2.0SX. Will decide after I got the chance to test drive altis 1.8, forte 1.6 and 2.0.

I recommend you should test drive altis 1.6 and forte before you make decision. If the final decision of mine is going to Altis, the only choice is 1.8 model due to the spec offered. It is all my own opinion and no offence to anyone...

The Forte's launch is this Wednesday afternoon at Pavilion. So, those of you interested with time to spare, can head there about 4-5pm.

last week CBT NST indicated century dash for 1.6 Forte auto is 10.2 secs!...this could be true as the long 2nd gear can be rev till 110km/hr ???...even 1.8 altis will find it difficult to achieve that!

hi lwlty,
are u sure msia is getting Gamma I instead of the Gamma II engine for 1.6 model ?
another letdown, 2 yrs warranty or 50K km....Spore offers 5 yrs with unlimited mileage!....guess Naza assembly plant in Gurun is the culprit ! smile_disapprove.gif

Does Kia Singapore offer such high specs? Are you so sure that the cars are assembled in Gurun? How many years does Toyota and Honda in Malaysia offer - 3 years or 5 years?

Is anyone going to stop buying a Forte just because Kia Singapore, Kia Australia, and Kia in many other places offers a 5-year-unlimited km warranty and Kia Malaysia doesn't?
