I have a golf 1.4 tsi too. 2.5 year old with 65k mileage. Funny thing or shall I say fortunate thing is my car has been really reliable. No DSG problem, no engine problem, no nothing. Got aircond tak sejuk only. Thankfully never once broke down while I was driving on the road otherwise I'll probably be raging.

Would I recommend it to a friend? Yeah, car is awesome. Whacking 180 on a highway is a bliss (my job requires me to travel back and forth a lot)

Would I recommend it to a friend after reading your post? No. But I would recommend based on my experience with the car.

Sounds like you may be a car salesman. Everyone I know who owns this dreaded car has gearbox or engine issue. Some of them even use it only as a weekend car for the fear that they will breakdown if it's used daily.

What kind of car requires clutch plate replacement after 1.5 years? Or mechatronics after 9 months? That's just sad

Look at the posting date and when the issues occur. Even 2013 cars are suffering the same issues.
