hmm... I don't thk so. the 1.4 Turbo petrol engine is available in Singapore. I am sure Malaysia petrol is ok for all petrol engine. if not all those other make turbo engine will be in trouble.

it is Naza now doing the right research. same goes to Malibu, bring the outdated 2.4 MPI engine. other country already using 2.0 Turbo and 2.5 Direct Injection engine for Malibu.

Singapore runs Euro 4. That's why the principal allows the turbo engine to be sold there. Due to Malaysia's poor fuel quality, Naza Quest is not allowed to sell the petrol turbo engined cars. They're very afraid of the problems faced by Peugeot and do not want a PR disaster if their turbo cars start failing here in Malaysia.

As for the Malibu 2.0 turbo and the 2.5L plus the facelift, those are only for USA. No other country has access to those variants.

what about VW brings their 1.4 TSI turbo like Jetta and Crosstouran? the engines are petrol turbo also right? not hearing any problems on their cars...as the only 'famous' problem with VW cars is their gearbox...correct me if i'm not following the news.. smile_blush.gif

thks for sharing. yeah...it is always a 'myth' if Malaysia petrol or diesel is good enough for newer engine. Peugeot, Mini, BMW prince engine might have the carbon build-up issue but I think not just because of fuel. More on engine oil being used and service interval. many car including Merc, Ford etc are using direct injection. the carbon built-up is due to engine crank fume being recirculate back into manifold. So if engine oil is too thick and dirty, it will stick more in the manifold and carbonized.

Direct injection engine need to do 'Italian Tune-Up' means rev it and race it once is a while to clear carbon. short distance drive is bad for the engine.

Yup, the build up is at the inlet manifold and valve. If got such problem, pm bro. chargerguy, he knows where to get it cleaned... smile_tongue.gif

i think they do have some issues but not widely documented of mentioned. probably because the dsg issues demand more attention than carbon foul up issues.

Wow, Singapore has the Orlando turbo as well!

http://chevrolet.com.sg/cars/orlando/

Last few days, I was following a 1.8L Orlando and it was pretty fast! Could do up to about 190kph. A friend told me that an Orlando 1.8 can easily do 200kph. Wonder how the turbo would perform.

Seriously? Compare with Proton? It's more like a standard European or Korean.
