Kancil Engine Harsh

steering groaning whenever I turn the steering. Sound like joint needs
greasing or worn gears. This 3-cylinder Daihatsu carb engine is also very
harsh and jerking (especially pick-up on 1st gear while releasing the
clutch). I have just change to Petronas Syntium 3000 & change 3 spark
plugs. Anybody has this problems as well? Care to share or any solution ?

Steering gives out sound when turning it while moving or is it when not
moving? If when got sound while turning+moving+accelerating then your CV
joint dirty/worn already. Ask mechanic to check the rubber boot and see
whether it is leaking grease.
If engine jerking when accelerating, maybe contact point (pak kam;
platinum in cantonese) needs changing. If contact point still new, check
other ignition related system; distributor, HT coil, spark plug cable
etc...

Kelisa,Kenari`s engine is even harsher...but more power.
Kancils have famous ball joint problems when turning left or right..they worn
out very fast..even u change to half cut ones..also will come back months
later.
Jerking ler..this engine has contact point (but I heard newer generation of
Kancil engines are electronic ignition) ..check if it`s worn off already..
But the good part about Kancil 660cc (or rather with 3 cylinder Daihatsu
engines) is that they are spirited in nature..and very economical in city driving
(but highway,FC may par with bigger cars as it runs very high rev)
BUT try taking it on the highway..thats where it`s weakness shows..except
1000cc.AND..it runs out of breath (torque) fast for kancil 660.Thats why at
around 70km/h..it starts to feel `lethargic`. Try carrying more people and will
even show more `lethargic`.
I tried ta-pau a Wira on traffic lights..and it screams hard but performs
badly.

point regularly, the jerking can be very irritating at times
the kancil 660 FC is still the best, easily 17km/l but crampy, bumpy and
zero ride comfort

change it? Many thanks guys.

Otherwise, once the car is running, its quite nippy and agile. Quite
eager to run too.

ler, set wrongly will also jerk one, the best is to change to electronic
distributor, plenty of them in breaker yard

sold outside are most likely fake ones, even if it comes wif that 3D
sticker, and based on my experience, there is power loss if u use fake
oil filters
