i fully agree to this....
i wouldnt extend oil change interval too much no matter how long car manufacturer wrote in the service book.....
i've seen to many damage done on too many cars and i'm not jumping in to join the fun of "scheduled" engine replacement....
one fact: no matter how good the engine oil.....its still an oil.....unless one day car engine is equipped with canggih "oil refinery system" instead of the very basic oil filter...
haha...like solar power become solar oil, no oil change forever.....

If I want to change the oil filter at 5K interval when using full syn. oil, will the oil leak out while dismantling the oil filter? If so, generally how much to be top up, 0.5 litre?

As far as I know, will just be the same when removing oil filter during normal oil change as most of the oil will settle at the sump. But why need to change the oil filter only. The filter can last up to your usual oil change distance. I had another member asking just want to change oil at 5k but leave filter to 10k change. Exact opposite from you....

When removing oil filter , it will not drain out the entire oil capacity. It is the oil capacity that hold the oil filter only. Typically it is 300 -500ml depends on the size of the filter itself. If you are using OEM/original filter, it would last 10k km. I have tried changing the filter while used fully synthetic at half way 5k interval and also changing the filter at the next interval, 10k kms, no difference felt.

I am using Tesco Mineral Based Engine Oil (20w50), mix with RTR Engine Treatment Booster Oil. The engine responsiveness is superb, especially the low-end torque. City drive and highway drive are enjoyable. The engine is quieter and cooler, especially on the highway. Sometimes i never realised that I drove over the speed limit, because of the engine is too quiet and very smooth.
