[b]Hey guys,

Guess what!!! GB problem again.

Senario
1st gear, trottle it..( normal )
2nd gear, trottle it..( does not change gear till high RPM and gear something like slips )
3rd and 4th gear...( gear still slips like when in 2nd..when lepas trottle, the RPM drops ..much like a normal auto gearbox )

Normally this 1.8s, when we cruiz ..about 90km/h, RPM should be about 2.5K right? But I'am getting about 3 plus. Then when I lepas minyak, my RPM drops. This is not suppose to happen to the DPO GB right?...We should have some kind of engine breaking when we lepas minyak right?

SO I pun frust...so I tarik la...1st, 2nd...and guess what...2nd gear I pull pass 4.3 or 4.4RPM the gear enggaged like normal. No slip. Then to 3rd and 4th like normal...the car was fine after that.

BUT when I slow down and the GB shifts back in 2nd ...there it starts again.
QUESTION!!!!...WHAT COULD BE WRONG? Suspects?

1) Valve body solinoid valve?...but which?..there are 8 in total?
2) Brake band?....normally if i cannot move forward but can go backwards..I think that would be it..but not this case
3) Not enough AFT?...oready check it
4) Clutch?....but if it is...then it should be constant slip...not back to normal after I Rev the darn thing
5) Drity AFT?.....Maybe la...what you guys think?
6) TCU...???
7) Are there any other sensors that I miss out?

What you guys think?..iam out of idea?

Waja 1.8 user here,

I was having that problem due to my coolant dripping onto my gearbox and wires.Having those slippery gear changes, ESPECIALLY when Jams on sunny hot days at highways.I let it cool down and drove during midnight. No problems.

My case was the wires or connectors behind the gearbox were wet and dirty.Asked my foreman to fire it with air gun.

So far okay.

Yes i know how it felt when it happens.I really do. smile_disapprove.gif

Bro,

My problem is much like yours. Just that the temp has no effect to this problem. Drive at night or day or even after the car has been sitting in the porch for 2 or 3 days. Any other clues
That could me out? And BTW, thoso connectors were the first I clean.

hi,rain;

I think is your gearbox sensor failure, go to workshop check .
my gearbox sensor rencently also short, D is blinking & auto gearbox light is on, no power, sometime may change to 2nd gear automatic, go to workshop (no proton workshop), check with computer, & change the sensor, now,is fine.
