I plan to do a car tint for my Toyota Vios. But there's just too many
options out there. VCool seems to be the best in the market but the price
is very high! anyone can recomend something more affordable yet reliable?

You need to consider these two:
1. Good tint product - value for your money, ofcouse.
2. Good workmanship - find shop that can do right the first time. You
don't want to fix tint problems as it is too time consuming.

I need to tint my current car but my installer that did my previous car
already closed shop or probably move to another place. 4-years with no
problems make me never visit the shop... huh! So need recommendation from
others as well.

The next best thing to V Kool is Rikecool, thou it is also a bit pricey
compare to others. But worth the money.

Get 3M Crystalline 70.
Easily can meet JPJ regulation and so far the best in the market with high
UV & IR blocking at the same time got high VLT.

Got myself Rikecool RC63 two days ago.

I wanted V-kool Elite for the whole car initially; Tint-Shop quoted me
RM1700 for "whole car V-kool". Good pricing, I thought. But later I got
quoted RM2200 by V-kool HQ in PJ. Seeing the big difference in the
pricing, I feel something fishy with the RM1700 package. People has been
telling me that Tint-Shop would mix V-kool with some other non-V-kool
tinting film for the so-called "whole car V-kool package".

The only safe way to get real V-kool is to do it at V-kool HQ, but I do
not have the budget of RM2200 so... I have to find alternative.

Rikecool RC63 with the VLT at 65%, it is not JPJ-OK.
So, I got RC63 for all four windows and the rear glass; RC80 for the front
windscreen (VLT 80%).

Well, it's cheaper than V-kool. But frankly, I am not really satisfied.
The dashboard, the upholstery, the steering wheel are still burning under
the hot sun... dam... Hate that. *#^)!&@(!@

By the way, it gives 6 years warranty. And they say they will take care of
the JPJ summones, if you get any because of the tinting.

Why Tint-Shop is cheaper than HQ?

V-Kool is like franchise business. Tint-Shop help V-Kool HQ to promote
its product. If HQ is selling the same price as Tint-Shop, then who will
go to Tint-Shop?

As with mixing V-Kool with non V-Kool,well,I do not think they 'll cheat
if they issue warranty card to indicate it is all V-Kool Elite.

I was too looking for good tinted glass for the last 2 months. I when to
Rike Cool (PJ) to test its RC55 & RC63. They have TSER of 50% & IRR of
85%. Both models were hot when tested under spot light. I doubt if the
information provided by them is correct. Talking about an installation
price of RM1,200(RC55) & RM1,600(RC63).

Phew!...less value for money than V-Kool.

there are not more than 3 main suppliers for all those brands.

some are coporate brands, some are in-house.

what differentiate these brands are the branding image, marketing
strategy, warranty and reputation.
