If I remember correctly in the older days the standard advice in UK Practical Mechanic magazine is to replace the thermostat yearly. So if still original then a good idea to change it. Do also check your VFC to see if too tight or not. If too tight unnecessary drag and noise when pickup and cruising.
May i ask what is VFC?

VFC is viscous fan coupling or engine fan clutch. Do refer to the posts under Jamned Viscous Fan Coupling for further info.

Hello guys,
Mine just happen yesterday while driving back from work at night. The next day i went to sc made scan 100. It showed coolant sensor defective. Changed the sensor(rm120) and thermostat (rm190). So far air cond working alright. Good luck guys.
I have same issue - can you please advise if the problem was solved by replacing the coolant temperature sensor?
