Agree on N8000, higher rolling resistance than PS3 and cheap.

But it probably has weak sidewalls.

After using for 1 yr and 20K mileage, I got a cut on the front wheel sidewall in Feb and went flat, at that time I wasn't too sure if it was due to road hazard.

Then 2 months later, another rear wheel has a spider shaped break at the sidewall with a slow leak. Then only I suspected these 2 incidents must be related to weak or brittle side wall because I have never damaged any tyres in this manner before. I don't recall hitting large potholes or stones, and no other premium tyres I used before had any sidewall issue(Pirelli, Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestone), I am usually a careful driver. The N8000 sidewalls feel thinner than PS3 if i remember correctly.

But I have many members using set after set and still using them without problems.....hmmm.....

The overall diameter is increased by 3.32%. Having said that, how much wheel clearance space do you have, especially in the rear. If wheel have little space left a bigger tyre may scrub your wheel fender on heavier load. Speedometer will under read by 3.3%, Pick up will be heavier with bigger wheel. Braking from high speed may take a little more effort.
As for comfort it will be better and handling maybe loose a little, but then are you the cornering type. You may have slightly more body roll.
If comfort is your aim, try using OE size that is 215/50R17 but get those mid range comfort performance tyres, eg Advan V551, BS New GR-100, GY Efficient Grip, Toyo C1-S, Michelin 3ST etc.
If into performance then Michelin PS3 also can be considered as they are quite comfy too.

If we changed to a bigger tire size than the stock tire, we need to reset the ECU on the tire diameter?

No need as we are suppose to change up or down but within 3% ruling only.... smile_thumbup.gif

This tyre model came with some of the Forte if not mistaken. Many of my friends straight away trade in and change to other tyres.... smile_shock.gif

First time I am reading about this problem. My friend has used 2 sets of N8000 and the only complaint was that it did not last more than 20K kms. The C-drive 2 that she now uses is a lot more durable!
