wah, satriaguy, pity you.
yours problem quite odd. suppose adding relay will eliminate that
problem. probably the mechanic did something not right during the relay
installation? u may try to check it with another mechanic.

I read somewhere that this is probably due to there is still a very hot
air accumulate in engine bay. this same air inducted by the engine cannot
create enough pressure to start the engine. While in the morning, the
cooler air is thicker and create a lot of pressure when u fire up the
engine.
This case also happen to a certain GM car few years back.

sounds possible. but, how come when i add the relay, the problem not
appear anymore? sorry i dont understand nor know how the wiring like when
adding relay. i only listen to experienced ppl adding relay solved the
problem, so i add it.:P
meaning,by-passing somethng and having hot air accumulate inside the
engine will still start the car? i think it is not only hot air or relay
that matters to this problem.the automobile engineer will have the answer.
anyway, i added relay and it did not give any problem anymore.

I strongly believes that what Spermy did was the right approach, by
adding relays and some wiring [depends on the design].
Basically, an electrical relay is able to control an output circuit of
higher power than the input circuit, thus...it can be considered, in a
broad sense, to be a form of electrical amplifier. Due to basic design
flaws or deteriotion of the electrical supply to the starter motor...the
solenoid could not be activated as it was designed to be. Thus by adding
a relay, the electrical power is boosted and many times it will work on
the starter solenoid and ..brmm brmmm...your car starts with ease,
whether cold or hot, or morning sickness. Dont worry it is not rocket
science, but if one doesnot trust a recommended solution, then it is best
to replace the starter or the engine or even the car.

believe me, i changed the started too!
i actually control my temp, and went to proton edar in the morning to
wait them resolve the problem from 8AM till 7.30PM.
they took out a new starter to change for me, and the problem still
exists.
adding relay with the cost less than RM100 or RM200 (i forgot actual
cost), will save you a lot hassle and time. you can better off use the
time to do other things.

I am having the same problem also. Ah, yes, it's quite confusing. At one
time, it was all ok but then, can't start.
The difference is, it's a Honda Civic 1.6 EXi and it's 14 years old!
