the former ex5 parts are from japan ?
well, i don`t think the current ex5 dream are not reliable because parts
from thailand are also considered good because they have their own
standard to comply with. and thailand has much more better kapcai`s that
what we have here because production factory for yamaha, honda, suzuki,
kawasaki are all there. to me, thailand kapcai`s are far more better than
taiwan scooters eg. nitro, comel etc (except modenas scooter). check out
the 2 & 4 strokers there and you`ll know what i mean.

Zompaa is right..
Even if the parts are made in Thailand, doesn't mean that it's low quality
part or inferior. The no's of kapcai (especially Honda)in Thailand is much
more than the population in MALAYSIA. Thailand is the one of the largest
producer of kapcai in Asia beside Indonesia. Thoose sentul mekanik simply
lagak pandai without knowing the truth. There's no reason to suspect the
current batch of ex-5 not so realiable.

Guys,

May I know from which country my EX5 engine comes from? Yr 1996 w/ starter.
Just use it to go to work (15-20 km daily). Have served me well without any problem so far. Bought it in yr 2000 from my bro.

Any enhancement made to the newer and cheaper Dream version? higher hp/torque?

Honda has been in Thailand since 1964. Soichiro Honda has the idea
of "Think Global, Act Local". This means that, worldwide strategy is
planned centrally, but implemented locally, individually.

Asia is a strategic market and Honda Motor (China) Co. Ltd. was set up in
1992.

The Thai motorcycle industry is huge. RXZs, NSRs, KIPS and others are
built there in huge volumes.

As for quality, I don't think some 'pomen's tales are worth much salt.
After all, NSR 150s are exported back to Japan, and even Singapore. The
EX5 is a workhorse, and nobody wants warranty problems.

Hope this helps you. But beware! There are LOTS of imitation parts,
especially for a popular bike like the EX5. Make sure the part you're
getting is genuine.
