A good OEM battery can last six or seven years. Local batteries are junk
and I would never rely on one more than eighteen months old. I have seen
US built AC Delco batteries last up to ten years.

A meter will not tell you the life span of the battery. A drop test will
simulate a heavy load and give an indication of battery condition but it
will not tell you the remaining capacity of the battery which is the most
important factor in determining life. Drop tests can also be faked to
make it appear a good battery is not servicable.
