Hi sfw816,

Please do take your time. Don't have to rush when comes to buying car. Local car companies seems to be waiting for the big event to pass by taking deposit for booking only at the moment and start selling only later. Cars that they are selling at the moment are existing stock taken out of the warehouse. Probably you'll have more choices and brands to choose later on at better offer.

Hi jayraptor,

Thx for ur advice.
What milage already ur SF? If not mistaken your one std spec right?
My 1st choice is like yours. But no stock. Less spec less headache.
Even the push start button key oso have to jaga, cannot drop. and heavy in the pocket too.
If normal keys can throw throw one.
Std spec petrol a lot of stock. but i m sure higher FC. Resale oso bad.

Hi sfw816,

You are welcome. Mine's already clocked above 20,000km. Mine's low spec 2.2 diesel with no sunroof, no reverse camera, no nappa maroon leather, no push start and few more gadgets removed. Probably those old no F/L Santa Fe that Inokom converted to new F/L selling at RM158k available at distributor only. That is same price as 2.4L petrol with all the high spec gadget. Not sure they still have these batch nowadays. I bought that time, they gave me special discount voucher at selected SC at RM230 service interval 10,000km. Without the voucher, I think around RM300.

If you haven't bought it, I suggest you to wait after the big event or wait for new 2013 model, join bro br1.

Hello to all the taiko/taiche,

Newbie here.

I am looking for a used Diesel spec Santa Fe for personal use, preferably year 2008 or later. I am more inclined to the pre-facelift model due to budget constraint. But if the price is right, I will consider the current model as well.

If anyone plan to let go your Santa Fe, I am willing to offer higher than what used car dealer can offer. Afterall, win-win situation for both. Thank you.

For the first time I saw a brand new 2012/3 new version of Santa Fe being driven through Section 17 at PJ yesterday afternoon. It could be the test unit. No. Plate is local I think, not the test drive plate.

As I was driven past from the opposite direction amidst the line of car, I cannot see it in details, but no one cannot fault the new design. I also confirm that the unit I saw is the Santa Fe Sports, with shorter wheelbase of 5 seater design. Not the longer one with 7 seaters.

Which mean it could be here sooner than we thought.

ps: I just bought a Santa Fe late last year. Thinking that the new design won't be out for at least 2 years.

Careful. Do this and you risk voiding warranty for the engine.

hi hongkie,

it is a plug n drive device with original socket and not wire cutting. can be removed within 5 mins if want to service. many other cars already using it since 2008. not problem for warranty claims.

so, no worry.

A few days ago I sent my car to this authorised agent to check on my air cond (I didn't like this authorised dealer's service centre but due to certain circumtances I had no choice). After checking all OK and the service supervisor strongly suggested the air cond be serviced cos it's approx 30,000km already. Service supervisor said it's a recommended service for maintenance purposes. It cost approx RM300++ for the air cond service. Anyway, the air cond is OK, not showing any fault.

A few days later I send my car to another service centre (the one that I always go to) for other reasons. Out of curiosity, I asked about this air cond service and maintenance thing and was told there is no such scheduled service for air cond, after X km like the normal service internal of XX km.

Is the service supervisor from the authorised agent's service centre trying to fleece me into doing unnecessary air cond service and make RM300++ from me?
