speed trap detector

anyone using speed trap detector here?
recently, there`s a china man intro a speed trap detector to me, it`s a
taiwan product.
he selling it at RM450
providing 1 year warranty.
any comment?

Be careful, it will work if it is in tune with the frequency the speed
trap is using.

And in reality, if it works and you are speeding when you detect the
scan, it will be too late already.

On the other hand, if you detect the scan and you are not speeding, what
is the point then?

Aren't radar detectors illegal here, and in some other countries?

We are all told it is illegal, but it would be interesting to find out
under which section or clause it is defined as illegal.
I am quite sure, our traffic laws was written long before the event of
radar detectors etc and it is unlikely to be written with making radar
detectors illegal in mind, but of course I could be the misinformed one.

It does not work in M'sia la, different freq.

I used once b4 that my colleague bought fr Holland.

Was travelling up north over taking luxury cars, saw opp cars giving lights but I still kept on going...then..%$#%$#^#% GOTCHA!!!!

if there are some cars on the highway, the detector will pick up the scan when it bounces off the car infront of you.

if there are no cars on the highway, it'd be too late coz the scan it picks up is from your car. smile.gif

that's what the manual says when i had mine in the US.
