For me, I don't think so, except it will disfigure and peel...ha! ha!
But once disfigured it should loose it's effectiveness.....

I was told it looses 50% in 5 years.....dunno true or not..

If true, then whether warranty for 5 years or not also should change after 5 years??

YES it is true BUT very subjective as our sun has different solar heat everyday, everything has a life span, agree? so as the solar film that was installed in your car. Nowadays our weather is unpredictable and plus the global warming, you will feel more heat in the car and it is not because you had a lousy tint.
So if you got a tint that has 5 yrs warranty then you should change it as and when you felt the heat rejection deteriorates.
Thus go for the one with the most number of years of warranty.

Almost all give 5 years warranty only..........

Yap, mine will be 5yrs old in a few weeks. The film start to peel-of (one door). Try to claim under 5yrs warranty. The procedure look quite simple. Bring the car to the HQ, inspect the problem and make appoitment for the replacement. But, the trick is, they will only replace the film. The labour cost will be on us.

the warranty is just for peeling and bubbling...and not the filtration...

Not sure yet. b'cose the fitting will be sometime next week and forgot to ask the cost. No choice as the peeling is quiet bad and getting bigger.
