Fly kite lah, J*J! What a bad idea. Really frustrated looking at current
road tax. Worse more, the reading on the road tax would gone after several
month and I saw the news where JPJ advised for all car users to photostat
the road tax before the wording gone. What a bull shit?! if the photostat
copy can be used, what is the point changing to this bloody version of
road tax. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..............Angry

If your windscreen is tinted, you can peel it off slowly and it shd be ok.
If you do not have tinting, then you can scrape it off the glass using a
PLASTIC scraper - you can buy these are the hardware store. Try using hair
dryer to warm up the glue before scraping/peeling it off. Slightly easier.

Some ppl I know stick the sticker onto a clear plastic sheet (like the type
used to hold the old paper road tax) and then stick the plastic sheet on
the windscreen.

sticking the roadtax on a plastic first is against the law... For
leftovers, try minyak angin, WD-40, kerosene.

lighter fluid gets the sticker off quite easily.

u can buy it at most art supply shops. in addition to being a fuel source
for lighters (duh!), it's also a pretty handy multi-purpose solvent.
cleans grime and encrusted dirt off mechanical/glass parts like a charm
too...

I know its illegal to stick it on a plastic. Since the other two giving me
so much of trouble, I started to do so with the current one since I got it
at March. Guess what, when the police / JPJ saw me during road block, they
just ignore it and let me go. What a shame, ah!Wink Well, this is
Malaysia. Nothing is firm, I guess

Good idea to put the roadtax into the plastic. Guess what? If you drive to
Singapore, last time you are required to remove and show your roadtax to
the immigration officer before they grant (should I say buy?) you with
the SIN$30/day roadtax.

Since our JPJ came up with this new roadtax innovation those officer curse
from that day until now. They have to get out from the "nice shielded
room" and look closely at your roadtax.

p/s: when I got my new JPJ sticker last year and drove to singapore, the
office insist that I tear the new roadtax sticker and show it to them.
Luckily the sticker didn't tear out. Have to use glu and stick it back. :(

Yar, I know. But if done properly (i.e. cut the plastic to exactly the
same size as the road tax sticker and make sure no bubbles) it's very very
hard to spot by the police - that's assuming they bother to even take
action la. That said, it will defeat the purpose of JPJ issuing the
sticker - to prevent theft of the r/tax disc.

The other problem was when my windscreen got cracked by some stone just 5
mths after they introduced the sticker type disc. I had to change
windscreen and the process to re-apply for new copy of r/tax is so tedious
(need letter from insurance co. lar, photo from workshop, JPJ verification,
old sticker, registration card, insurance cert, etc.) I had to ask my
insurance runner to do it for me and pay him RM 50 extra. I dunno if they
have improved the process now.

But then have avoid a very "reflective" plastic la... My car's windscreen
was also cracked. But the workshop managed to peel it off (after about 5
months later) and stick it back without problems.
