Hi,

For these entry level SUV - Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson and Suzuki
Vitara, all of them are CBU and very close in pricing. In term of
reliable and comfort ride, which one do you think can outperform the rest?

I choose Suzuki Grand Vitara !!

1) CBU Japan
2) modern interior
3) reliable
4) free service
5) looks cool !

(I am tempted to trade in my civic 1.8 for this Grand Vitara!)

The Grand Vitara is not a 4WD, it is only RWD now.

It no longer has the 6 airbags either.

I much rather buy a 2nd hand Honda CRV for the same price.

As for the Koreans, nah after years of having a Hyundai Matrix I think
enough is enough.

Grand Vitara is FWD. the older vitara is rwd when shift to 2H.

Sportage or Tuscon shd price much lower than a CBU Grand Vitara in order to
sell.

The old vitara (CKD) used to be a reliable small 4x4.

So CBU shd be good or any owner give ur view?

It is definitely a RWD.

Test drove one today.

A little underpowered when compared to a CRV.

Fit and finish however is top notch and way better than a Sportage.

WOnder why they don't bring in the Hyundai Tucson 2.0 TDI? That's a good
SUV to hv too.

2WD or 4WD, what's the difference? Majority of people don't take it off
road anyway. May be just bragging right.

Agree that the pick of the lot is the grand vitara 2wd. If it is RWD then
even better as the handling would be improved. Very very tempted lah to
trade in my city vtec of 3 yrs but alas, my logical brain tells me its
too early to change cars... wait for another 2 yrs...or lose too much
money. So decided to wait for 2-3yrs to trade in for SUV. At first really
thought of going for a 2nd hand less than 2 yrs sportage @ around RM75k
but really feel that GV is a good deal being Jap CBU and all plus free
maintenance and longer warranty, will buy new...
