Hi,
Just curious,
What is the FC for this car for current diesel fuel price?
Prefer in KM/L and/or sens/KM quotes. Thanks

If you were to use a diesel at current fuel prices
you are still saving 30-40% over a similar eng capacity
petrol car..Roadtax is affordable now.

My year 97 Wira 2.0D
FC = 17 - 18km per little of diesel.
More or less same as Isuzu Dmax 2.5 2WD
So, Dmax win

Thanks Snail and Citroen for your reply.
Just how much is the 2.0D road tax now?

ii) And is it very realible unit and readily available spare parts
despite the car is being discontinued?
I am hoping that this unit is really as servicable as the normal gasoline-
powered Proton Wira.

Cause I plan to use it for daily personal usage around 60KM daily or
more, going to work and back. Thinking whether the higher road tax but
with lower diesel price is worth the jump.

Currently I am using 1300cc car and getting around 13-14KM/L from my fuel
consumption.Sometimes higher fuel consumption.
I`ve never driven a diesel car before and would think that this non-
turbocharged diesel car would have the same feeling as driving a Perodua
Kancil 660 but with a Proton Wira body.

Answer to you :
1. Latest road tax : near to RM400 per year.

2. Service interval : 5000, I use Duckham minaral oil, about RM28 for 4L
pack. Taxi driver recommend me to use this oil

3. Oil filter, competible with Pajero, cost about RM15 (non original part)

4. All part same as Proton Wira 1.5 except the engine. So part, no problem
with spare part.

5. Power, not that bad as Kancil 660, I think any time better than Wira 1.5

Problem :
1. Speed, max 130KM/hr only due to RPM limitation, if you just need a car
that drive around 100 - 110, then ok lah.

2. Pick up will be not responsive as those petrol powered engine. If you
want to over take the long traller, better think twice.

How much can I get for my Wira diesel? 96 model non turbo.
I do have a unit, half a million km on the odormeter already. no overhaul
yet. still gives me 450km for rm40 fuel. latest fuel prices after 30cts
increase. will still go 160km on the highway easily, not top speed never
tried top speed before, always ease off the throttle once I see 160km on
speedo.
Front brake disc have been increase to wira 1.6 running 1.6 calipers.
Suspension set is a research and development from apm motorsports as I was
working there and using my car for research.Engine is stock standard but
very very carefully maintain, using super high performance synthetic lubs,
lubs that carries mercs approval 288.1 which states that the oil change
interval is approve for 45,000km oil change. I do not change my oil at
45,km but I do constantly change my oil only after 10,000km.
The only thing I do not like about the car is the vibration.
