try to calculate the whole purchase of the car,a new one and the 2nd
hand. Before buying the 2ndhand car, check the history record of the car i
mean the maintenance log book .If the schedule maintenance is alright and
try to find who is the previous owner and why he/she sell it .People who
sell their car must have a reason, if the car is so good people won't sell
it.A good maintenance record reflect a high reliability to the car.Buying a
new car at least you have a warranty and a chance to annoy the service
center staff.

the most importing thing is...ask yourself...are u really really like the
car or not...most people do not ask the queastian to thier selve..they
just buy the car because of lust...well lust really dont last.but love
is...as for me i bought a vios cause i really like the car and happy with
it...its been 5 years...correct there is some issue with the car but i
manage to overcome it and i dont feels guilty of it...just simply i like
the car.that's all. well if u think a brand new persona can really give
what u want...by all means go ahead....

When your car is 5 years old.. I guess need a lot of major part change,
example, timing belt, clutch, drive shaft, absorber.. but all of these
change is still depend on driver, how much mileage on that car.take note
also toyota orginal part usually is 40%> expensive than proton car..
example my old toyota 1.3, I change the absorber for RM250 each piece,
but at that time proton wire absor only sell for RM130. But offcouse the
toyota is better quality than proton one.

but some people said that persona parts more expensive then toyota.
because not a lot of people drive persona at the moment. In addition, I
forgot to mention, I'm doing sales job, so, I will use car most of the
time, those toyota users advise me proton wear and tear very fast, and the
value of 2nd hand is not there. Thanks for all the advise. really need
more advise as I really can't decide what car to buy.

persona is no different than Gen2, even the petrol pump that I recently
change also from Gen2 fuel pump. so the spare part is not expensive..I
did consider a secondhand honda city before I decided go for persona. It
because of stupid goverment tax structure, the cost of 3 years old city
still 10k more expensive than my persona baseline. why I only compare
with 3 years old city? it because honda give 3 years free service for it
car, so 3 years old city much still in good condition.
For 5 years old car. I rather chose new persona. at least I can smell the
new car smell now.

If for the same price, i will get the new car.

If you want to get a second hand car for work purpose, then get a cheap one
la. that is my humble advice. get a workhorse car like a wira or something.
There's a lot of used Wiras with good condition and they are dirt cheap.

In your case of deciding with a budget in mind, it will be persona for me.

I also asking the salesman why its interior not look nice? he also agree
wth me that it interior not too good... He think i want to buy new car...
