This is where I do my alignment & balancing:-

Yesterday i went to a tyres shop which was recommended by my friends who
describe the tyres shop is really good and PRO and uses the most advance
machine. They somemore told me that they have seen some millions car like
Ferrari 430,Porschs there. Isaid to myself, "ok i want to see how pro is
the tyres shop."
When there, i was 1st impressed by the cleaness of the shop. I know the
shop is not new, but it is clean. Really amazed. I did not see Ferrari
there but i saw a Mercs. Brabus there which 1st caught my sight as well as
a Fairlady Z350 and a VW Golf GTi. Ok back to the topic, there was a
mechanic who immediately came to us with tidy appearance. Not like some
mechanic with all the oil sludge on the shirt. He was friendly to us and
ask us what' s the problem with ur car? I just ask him to check my entire
suspension system like cambers, alignment (front&rear) and also do the
balancing on wheel and off wheel. He said Ok.
When they do the balancing , i was amazed. They took out my tyre off the
rim and got the most reading with least vibrate then only fit it back.
Then, only they will start to balance the tyre with the rim. If they still
can't get the satisfied result, they will redo the process again.
After that, he adjusted the alignments and the cambers. After adjusting,
the supervisor will test drive the car not the mechanic himelf. After
testing the car, i saw the mechanic went to adjust my camber again and
redo the alignment for my front wheel, then supervisor tested the car
again. In total, he need to redo the job for 3 times. I was really
impressed with the service. Really good, not like "chi cai" behaviour from
other tyres shops.
Finally finished the job. Took us like 3 hours or more... The cost was
RM 155.40 including 5% of govt tax. The services done were:-

Alignment for front n rear =rm35
off wheel balancing for Alloy rim rm6 x 4 =rm24
on wheel for alloy rims rm7 x 2 =rm14
adjust both front camber =rm50
adjust rear right camber =rm25

total =rm 148 + 5% tax
=RM 155.40

I think it was cheap for the price they charged with the standard of
service. So i paid fast fast, scare they will change the price. The price
is just slightly higher than other tyres shop but the quality of service
is incredible. The result, my car is more stable in cornering, and more
comfortable to drive. Ucan go back if u are not satisfied in 7 days. But i
dont think i need to go back till the next service.Big Smile I AM SATISFIED BY
MPS AUTO!!!!

guys, i always do my alignment at a shop near wisma Peters old klang
road. It used to be called something Evolution. The owner before was
Danny Tan. The guy who use to do the tyre his name is Sam. Now Sam has
taken over the shop. He really takes time to do the tyres...be prepraed
to wait if you go there as he spends quite long with a car.

Recently i went ther to do balancing and aligment for my wira. Using ST
115 tyres. At first after he did i was not too happy because i felt that
the car was moving abit to the left side even when i put my sterring
straight. so i took back. He said he checked the chamber and all it was
ok but he can try to adjust again. after he did, it was much better but i
still feel that th car tends to sway towards the left side.

Can it be the road? Sometimes it seems ok but most of the times it tends
to sway slowly to the left. Not too obvious but as the driver u will
surely realize.

any ideas on this sifus?

Hi jayded,

How are you?
You did not mention whether New Tyres or just do alignment?

If just alignment, how was it before the adjustment?

How about trying a few roads, and if on the highways, both the right and
left lanes.
Also try left full turn, test straight road, then right full turn and test
again and see any difference?

hi vr2turbo,

I'm not good la...fuel price increase but stupid company dowant to
increase payAngry How are you? Been some time.....

the tyres are not new. Before the adjustment, it was already swaying
towards the left. That;s why i took it for adjustment thinking alignment
sudah lari. but came back the same.

i heard each car makes/model have their own chamber adjustment settings.
so, if the mech does not know the exact setting, can this be an effect?

i have tried certain roads. at times i fell it is ok-it's traight. but
many times i feel the steering needs to be placed a bit to the right
(very slight) to get it into a straight line. If i let go the steering,
it slowly moves towards the left..very slowly.

I rem long time ago, i did the alignment at eon glenmarie. It was really
good. I felt very straight the steering. But it was about 4-5 yrs back.
after that i never took it back there as the people had changed and they
are expensive!!

I was introduced to this guy called Sam and the first time i took the car
there, the alignment was done really well. I even took my kelisa there
and the responce on the kelisa is totally different. it was very good
though the kelisay is using stock cheapo tyres. It has a bit of vibration
but the alingment is dam straight. i can let go the handle and it won't
steer.

let me know what u think....and thank for the good input always:)

jayded,

You did not answer this:-
>>>Also try left full turn, test straight road, then right full turn and
test again and see any difference?<<<
means while stationery turn your steering fully left, then drive straight
road, stop, turn steering fully right, then drive straight road and see any
effect. This is to test your steering rack and steering rack bush.
If one is okay, and the other is pulling left, then the steering rack bush
is loose.

Secondly, since it is old tyres, could have worn down to pull left. If your
tyres are symmetric or asymmetric, switch the tyre around. left to right
and right to left and see what happens.
If tyres are directional, remove from rims, fit back the other way then
switch left/right to get the tyres pointed the right way, then test and see
what happen.
