I have been trying to find out more about the effectiveness if the Locktecg double locking system. Whilst we are aware that there is no one car lock that is 100% fool proof, is Locktech a good deterrent to car theft?
I notice that the brake pedal lock is not one if the locks recommended by our brother who wrote the good review above. I wonder why?
Like many, I am also concerned about its implication on the new car warranty due to its second lock which is essentially electrically connected to the car's ignition system.
I hope I could be enlightened further on this particular locking device.
Thanks!

True, no security system is 100% perfect. As long as man is imperfect, there are no such thing as a 100% secure lock. New lock technologies are always compromised sooner or later. The target is always moving. The best is we do not depend on just a single or even two security system.
Locktect has been compromised more often than liked. There's a local Youtube video out there that showed a Honda stolen despite being additionally secured with Locktect. Pedal locks like Locktect are rather common, so I suppose thieves find it important to learn how to overcome this lock type. Even the popular Autolock (combination of steering and pedal lock) which they show on TV like some sort of 100% theft proof has a known weakness that allows thieves to remove this lock without having to cut or break anything.
Gear locks, on the other hand, is less common, so I suppose thieves find it less important to learn about this lock. But this does not mean there are no thieves out there who are experts in all sorts of locks. Even bump keys exist for the Construct gear lock.
All thieves want to work quickly, quietly, and inconspicuously. So, the idea is to make our cars a nuisance by having thieves compromise many security features, work noisily, and taking too much of their effort and time.
P.S.
Technically, doing any sort of wiring will void the car warranty but some service centres will turn a blind eye if they know the wiring clearly did not cause a given problem in your car. But if they want to be picky...
