i forgot the exact amount. it also depends whether u flush the ATF or just drain the old one out and refill with new oil. flushing is around RM200 if im not mistaken.

yes is about that... but again... if you wanna service under the tree also pls.. buy things from Toyota SC... like ATF... don assume those are Genuine if the bottle is look a like also... according to my fren Parts sold in Toyota SC is not that expensive... Wiper Rubber is only RM20 (without frame) and it last more than 1 yrs for me Windscreen is only RM350... but y it takes about RM800 to replace it??? SC Advisor told me the replacement procedure said we need to replace others rubber parts also to prevent leakage...
FYI a normal service for 10k is around RM300 where as when you buy stuff from outside and service outside also similar...
Mobil Full-Syn around RM150~200, Engine Oil Filter RM25, Air Filter RM20??? to if you add together it is almost similar for me... i never use Nasa, or others so call cheaper oil... coz i wan to preserve my engine with better ones... mostly Full-Syn is around RM130++ also...
just my own view i duno others ppl but if you saw go back to a SC is very expensive then u might rethink... FYI any one bringing back to Toyota SC take a look at their car when u take it back, tires clear off stones, all the important points checked, engine weird sound also check for you... so do your mechanics outside do it for you??? i'm not sure of that although i have 2 Toyota service outside at a old fren of my mother... or by my uncle...

Need advice. Thanks in advance.

My Vios is 5 year old and done about 125000km.

Problem came up 2 days ago.

I think it can't engage the 4th gear. On highway, after smoothly exceeding about 70~80kph, it like gone into neutral, engine just over-rev on its own. I slow down and then there is a jerk, presumingly engaging back to 3rd gear.

So for the past 2 days, I have been driving very slowly even on empty opened roads.

Where should I send to check. Just check first and if really major, will decide later whether to send back to Toyota or not. Understand that the gearchange is electronic and if so, will non-Toyota authorised workshop be able to check?

There is no funny sound coming from the gearbox. ATF changed about 10000km ago with Toyota original. How long will a Toyota gearbox usually last?

change your gear oil...
carefully decide the gear oil that suitable for ur car...
dont go for those Cap Ayam Brand Gear Oil...
Choose 80/95 Gear oil for best performance...

sometime the engine oil also affect the problem u mention here...
choose only toyota engine oil or strong brand like Eneos

before u chance ur engine oil...if u have leaking problem...then go for lower grad oil
if no leaking problem then try semi-synthetic or fully synthetic oil....

the prices for toyota fully synthetic= RM 155.00
toyota semi synthetic= RM 95.00
Eneos Fully synthetic = Rm 185.00

CHoose better grade engine oil for better performance...
is better to choose eneos than other brand....
i am confidence u will see the difference after that...

here is my contact number if u need any assistance

I'm on Bardahl Fully Syn 5w/40 for engine oil; one of the cheapest in the market. OCI at 8k km to 10k km.
So far so good, been using it for 3 years plus already and my Vios has clocked 110k km
My gearbox oil, I change it every 40k km, no problems so far.

I used to drive my wife old 2003 G spec Vios until we sold it. Now problem wit GB whatsoever thru out the ownership. I changed at 20k km intervals for ATF. Runs on mineral 10/30 Shell and changed at 10k km intervals too. However, i did added in an aftermarket cooler for GB. smile_thumbup.gif

Cheers!
