hello all bikers...

i got my 8 years old TXR-150 Gamma.
clocked out almost 78k km now.
after watching Remp-It movie...i really want to rebuild and refresh my
bike.
being left and seldom use since i own a car.

i need help from u guys especially from those who own a Gamma.
maybe can share some infos and such.

erm...1st thing cross in my mind is about the piston ring.
i can say that the engine now ringing and rough when i rev it up.
something inside the engine causing the sound.

let's say i want to change the piston ring.
can i just bring the piston and the ring to spare part shop and get a new
set?
will it fit/match the piston and block nicely?
after that, do i have to do the 'break-in' process?

erm...any advice or suggestion are welcome.
i see not many people talk about Gamma or Panther in here...so i hope we
can start talk about it in here...hehehe.

i really love it.
sayang to sell it laa...no value, aite?
better keep it.

ok guys...thanx in advance!

no Gamma in Remp-it...but the 2-stroke spirit in there, burn my desire to
ride the Gamma back!
for 8 years, got no major break-down.
got frens who service it for me during Uni time...but now no more.

i'm thinking to DIY for the servicing...such as clean up the piston,
polish the head and so on.
things such as clutch plate and piston ring changing will refer to
mechanics.

currently, i took out the air filter...got no more airbox cover...empty
all the way to carb...only left the airbox base.
mainjet size 210, sprocket size 16-38, which is a mistake i done on last
chain replacement.
front fork left hand side leaking.
electrical system still in good condition.

woo 8 years..

Taiko liao..
why not bring the motor to a reputable mechanic and ask him to do the basic.
and i think (and it is only my opinion), to go and rebore the blok so that
u can fit in a new set of piston and piston ring. i think this way is much
cheaper over time. u see, when the blok is has fine "calar" on it. it will
eat up ur piston ring in no time.. u have to replace it and u have to pay
for the labor also..(quite expensive la..)

Next is to have to have your fuel line from the tank until to the carb to
be cleaned. the tank has to have rust by now. Get your mechanic to do dat.
replace the fuel line or blow it with blower if it is not yet swelling.
Clean the carb and see if the main jet is still sharp or oredi terkakis.
Replacing it wont be too expensive though.

about the leaking fork.. it must have worn out oil seal. replace it and
service the fork. change into new oil fork..

I have a lot more to say such as 2t pump (have to adjust it back) and
exhaust system that have to be CLEANED from the carbon build up.

I do this when I bought a TZM back when i was form 6. Lot of money i must
say.. but after that it is smooth sailing.. Sad have to jual coz of the
fuel price..damn pak lah

thanx for yer comments and advices nuovoS.
meter are still ok...only few bulbs of the gear indicator are kaputs.
yeah...i'm thinking the same, too.
rebore the block and put in new piston and piston ring.
let the engine feel like a virgin...hehehe.

my fuel consumption are demn high.
i think it cause by 210 size of mainjet and wrong sprocket ratio, 16F:38R.

i got original 5-spokes JRD sportrims.
there's a guy asked me whether i want to sell it or not...i said no..its a
rare items nowadays.

one thing before i forgot...do i need to change the monoshocks?
i can't see any oil leaking around it.
so, i guess it still ok.

about a reputable mechanic or workshop, can anyone recommend me one?

thanx ya all...
