2 years ago I was really keen on the 407. 2009 is the facelift model, that was the last model to have all the improvements. I forget now what the improvements are, I finally got the 408. However I still remember the MFD on 08 models is on top of the dashboard in the center. This looked ugly like a taxi meter. 09 this taxi meter disappeared, MFD is incorporated in the GPS display unit.

I'd say get the 09 onwards model. Present 2010 price is only $60K

Thanks. On Mudah.com, the difference on 2008 and 2009 is very wide. 2008 model went down as low as RM43K. If it is only cosmetics, then I will prefer the 2008 model as it is good enough for me. Moreover, the gb has the cooler added so for me, that is the most important feature to be added.

I also read that the 407 has a 20K miles or 32k km service interval but Malaysians are servicing at 10K km. Maybe it is the Malaysian culture not to trust everything. smile.gif

You are taking a very sensible approach. Yes the 08 model has the gb and engine improvement, 09 carries cosmetics improvements. 08 onwards VVT was added to the engine and that pushedup another 7hp. I have tested both engine types during the time I was keen. The 7hp extra does make a difference.

After having tasted a turbo engine, I take a very different approach now. I would buy a cheap 407,completely rebuild the car and engine, add a turbo, high torque gb and better brakes. Man...... now you are Lion King! Hehehe..........may be I watch too much wheeler dealer!

As for service it's not the case of Malaysian culture. It's better to service every 10Kkm,our weather is too humid, not a good idea to prolong service intervals.

Good luck with your Lion! biggrin.gif

Can you share more about the turbo? Your idea sounds good. Got any links about the turbo so that I can read more about it. Actually today's Mudah shows 2010 407 at RM60K only. I wonder whether they are genuine sales or bait and switch.

The engine is EW10. There is more info if you search the net. Sorry I did not save the info since I got myself the 408T.

$60K for a 2010 is the right price today.

This is true, when road tax/inc spares replacement are added, as warranty is over with this model. It is still a very good buy.

Since otr price could hit 70K,you might want to consider 2012 408NA. Might be able to pick one around $70K+ and this will come with 3 year balance warranty. With this no need to worry about replacement parts for next 3years. However,408 is C segment and 407 is D segment.

I still prefer C segment car as I go outstation a lot.

By the way, for the 2008 model, are all 2008 cars with the new gb cooler? Perhaps, the earlier 2008 cars may not be fitted yet. So, any way of telling the difference? Bend down and inspect the gb? smile.gif

If you prefer C segment, then get the 408. Perfect time to get this car as stock clearance is on,making way for the facelift 408 coming soon. Very good discounts on the NA and turbo models. I'd say get the turbo, you'll love driving this car.

At the used car market, all the 408NAs are snapped up. There appears to be a demand for this. Used turbo models are also taken. However as more turbos models were sold than NAs, there are a few turbo models still available.

As for the gb cooler on the 407, best to ask a Pug specialist workshop.
