both are good cars

i have friends driving both.....
1 fre owns an altis....been driving it for at least 4 years.....he still likes his car....but of coz his is before the facelift
another fren of mine bought the slyphy the moment it has launched
being a salesman...heavy duty used esp outstation
60,000km in less than 2 years.....so far he never mentioned anything about maintenance or gearbox issues

both having quite good leg room with the slyphy slightly bigger
apart from that..its just whether ur wallet can afford it or not

i m looking at sylphy vs altis 1.8 - which to choose?

Having had the opportunity to drive both cars, Altis (current model, 1.8G) for 2 years and now driving Sylphy. I think both has it's pros and cons.

Altis
Pros: Softer suspension and able to absorb potholes and bumps better than Sylphy; Excellent fuel consumption (i.e. Avg: 11.9km/L for 80% city drive and 20% highway)
Cons: Limited leg room for the rear.

Sylphy
Pros: Much roomier and excellent rear leg room; Quieter than Altis.
Cons: Harder suspension and more body rolling; Higher fuel consumption for almost same horse power as Altis (i.e. Avg: 10.5km/L for 80% city drive and 20% highway)

Build quality for both cars are on par having Altis using more soft material for its dashboard. Finishing and fitting for Altis is slightly better.

Hi scenic,

Yes I did. I need bigger space. So naturally Sylphy is the best choice for its price.

How's your Altis going? Are you looking for Sylphy as well?

Sylphy, Altis, Forte, Avante, Civic, Cruze, 308, Mazda 3, Lancer, to name a few are under the same Compact Car (Small Family Car - C-Segment) category...
Last time during visiting to a Nissan showroom, I thought the Sylphy was a Mid-Size Family Sedan (Large Family Sedan - D-Segment), but it's not...

You could check out both Toyota and Nissan's website to compare their dimension. The interior of Sylphy is more spacious relative to Altis's and this is specifically significant on its rear leg room.
