Bros vr2turbo,
how about hankook? prior to my present xm1 (185/60/14), i been using hankook optimo k406 (i feel it is better than xm1) but i think it been discontinued, any idea what's the replacement.

Not so into Hankook except for their UHP Ventus Range S1Evo and V12Evo.
Optimo Range are their HP range, and I do see the K406 in Kai Shen website.
Try calling Tek Ming to see if they still have this tyre..... smile_tongue.gif

What would be the different if changing from stock 175/65/14 to 185/60/14? Less bumpy?
Seem like 185/60/14 have more tyre choice. Plan to change for my wife's myvi.

actually is just the 10mm more wider... the height is 175/65 R14 is 113.75mmm while 185/60 R14 is 111mm only 2.75 lower how much stability it can give you...
the most common reason is better choice of tire to choose from... you have Michelin XM1 or Certis, Yokohama A Drive, Toyo Teo Plus, Falken 912... these is the most recommended 1... skip Continental CC1, NCT5, Powerblitz and some of the local brands, those is not that good..

From 65 to 60 supposed to be a bit bumpy but still depends to the tyre construction right?
I dont think the different will be significant.
Probaly just like increasing the tyre pressure.
If wifey is a normal driver then XM1 will do great.
Just remember to not drive too fast when there is only40% or less thread left.
It will aquaplane easily.

well if from 175/65 R14 to 185/60 R14 it is negligible coz the height of the side wall is the same... but if 185/60 R14 vs 185/65 R14 the thicker profile should be better... yes it is depends on what tire u use, XM1 will comfort and for ladies or whom prefer comfort it is nice... and the aquaplaning is a subjective thing again coz it depends on the car weight also, but the wet grip of XM1 after 50% wear is good for normal driving not aggressive one... smile.gif my 1st few years of driving is on XM1 and it can be use back when i broke my SEG sport rim, not bulging and bi-lateral offset issue...

Actually, it will be more bumpy, due to lower aspect ratio and a wider contact.
But the advantages are good. More tyre choices, better grip and handling for safety.
The more bumpy part is slightly more only..... smile_tongue.gif

i think that is negligible as you can't really feel it if you are on comfort suspension setup...

Not much difference in comfort, of course depends on tyres used also.
But handling should improve a fair bit.......... smile_thumbup.gif

for 175/65 R14 to 185/60 R14 i think minimal difference lo... mine from 185/55 R15 to 195/55 R15 last time also... but everytime i change tire i also felt pick up a lil slow maybe just feeling only... haha...
actually is ur foot that determine the FC... btw u felt a bit sluggish after change, so u press the accelerator harder but when u get use to it u will know how to control for better FC...
