407 is such a great looking car. I feel the design is timeless. This is one design that lives forever. There are now very good bargains on this model. For those interested I would recommend the standard model which has fabric seat covers and no GPS. The premium comes with nice extras and cost about 10K more. For me I rather spend the 10K on fresh leather seats covers and a new HU.

Original HU on premium tends to give trouble after a few years and will need replacement. The 10K will come in handy for leathers and a new HU to the standard!

Just my 2 cents worth for those with a budget considering the 407!

Yes the 09 comes with GPS. A more important point is that, oil cooler added to GB. Before 08 model no oil cooler and there were some failures. GPS display units have been know to fail and quite expensive to replace. That's why I rather go for a standard model and fit a new GPS unit and leather seat covers.

I saw a 2010 model,40K km, for $63K in Mudah.my. Sure can get at $60,which is a fantastic bargain! Check it out. Good luck bro!

So far my average over 10,000km is 9.3l/100km inclusive of traffic jam, highway, regional etc etc.

When I drive on highway, it can go down to about 8.5l/100km. FC reduced a lot since I changed my driving style, did engine decarbonizing and also change to Goodyear tyres. I think those stuff made a difference. Anyway looking to buy a used car? Which year you getting?

No performance diff. Additional on premium are, GPS,JBL sound system,leather seat covers.

I am planning to change from my Camry to the 407. Can someone tell me what is the difference between the 2008 and 2009 model? I read that the 2008 has additional stuff so I thought a 2008 model will be sufficient but I keep reading that the 2009 model is better. Why? Are there major differences?

2 years ago I was really keen on the 407. 2009 is the facelift model, that was the last model to have all the improvements. I forget now what the improvements are, I finally got the 408. However I still remember the MFD on 08 models is on top of the dashboard in the center. This looked ugly like a taxi meter. 09 this taxi meter disappeared, MFD is incorporated in the GPS display unit.

I'd say get the 09 onwards model. Present 2010 price is only $60K
