Normally, the needle in the temperature gauge will point and stay at 90C, ie half way up the scale on the gauge.

It's a hot day.

But my temp needle dropped

Just recently, I managed to capture a photo of the meter while driving.

By the way, I don't condone to snapping photo and driving zig zagging up a hill.

As you can see, my needle is just a tad above zero.

Soon after this, after you drop your boy to morning school, circa 7am, the needle will sweep up to max and it will lit up.

Display panel will show 'Engine temp fault' and 'STOP' driving (something to that effect).

Then it's time to call for towing service.

After a full week in SC, I finally got my car back last Saturday.

What could have been done in half day, ended up taking one week, because SC was ran out of parts. And they couldn't get restock from KL because they ran out of it too.

Car runs fine now. Needle in temp gauge is at 90C and stays there all the time while driving.

Following the replacement of the sensor, two other conditions which my car experienced, mysteriously disappeared.

1. Cold start issue

2. Air condition blowing hot air when the dial is at 22C (or above).

Coincidence? I think not.

So if your car experience any of these symptoms, get the temperature sensor, or sensors, checked.

1. Fluctuating temperature reading on the meter

2. Cold hard start

3. Air cond spewing hot air above certain temperature.
