hey gregy,

I have a few friends who have installed Llumar tint, so far so good. The
guy who attended to them was also very informative about the range of film.
Actually the film quality is similar to V-kool, it is merely branding lah.
I was there when my friend got his car tinted and we didn't have a problem
with the Llumar sales manager.

I have heard many horror stories about Krystal Bond and how some customers
complain about the uneveness in the application. I already read somewhere
that the chemical used by Krystal Bond is toxic and can be hazadous to
health if it comes in contact with the car's upholstery or if you
accidentally lick it!!

Hi buddyclub,

Perhaps we went off on a wrong footing, I don't know. But I felt downright
humiliated at certain points of our interaction especially at the point
where he talked about not doing a half-assed job (my translation, can't
remember the exact words) and that I should take the whole package. I was
unhappy because I wasn't even going to ask him for a discount or anything
like that yet (he hadn't even come close to answering all my questions and
convinced me fully yet) before shooting off tangent.

And what the heck, take it or leave it? I just felt that no company
regardless of pedigree products or lack thereof should behave in such a
manner. So what if you have the best tint in the world, does that make one
invincible? And they're quite costly also, it's actually higher priced
than V-Kool (market leader at the moment I believe?).

From a marketing point of view, such alienation from the general market
positions oneself at the high end of the spectrum and appeals to people
wanting to pay more merely for snob appeal.

Let's face it, he claims that V-Kool will peel in about a yr while Llumar
won't. Can he honestly back that up with evidence and will he allow people
to spread the news like that? V-Kool will sue his pants for sure.

On Kristal Bond, sure there are issues. I was unhappy when my front screen
was done (had some bubbling), so they took it off and redid it the next
day. Yes, the chemical compound may be toxic, but they don't deliver the
car until the coating is dried. And after that it's already crystallised
like glass itself.

Back to Llumar. If I had indeed gone and taken their full package (their
only package) can they remove the Kristal Bond for me? And can they safely
remove my rear tint without damaging my demister wires? That was the
question I was going to ask him before he decided that I wanted to ask for
a discount. So be it.

Cheers.

Hi gregy,

The LLumar Guy you've been referring to is me - Chris. Nice to meet you
too Greg ?

As you can see we've not even been properly introduced yet, so no wonder
we're all shooting off in tangents !

I can see you are "pissed-off" and particularly at me for some reason.
That's ok but I'll like to say our brief conversation has been taken out
of context. It was already late around 10pm that night so forgive
ourselves if we had a long day !

Back to your questions :

1. Can we remove your coating on your front windscreen ?
Answer : No. We do not have the chemicals to do so. Would advise you to
go back to your product supplier.

2. Can the existing film be removed without damaging your demister lines ?
Answer : Yes. We use our factory-recommended process to safely do so
without harming the demister lines. We need longer time compared to just
brute force pulling but we do a proper job - believe or not !

3. As you said, for you, I didn't get to explain properly on our product
offering, so I wouldn't have even thought about pricing and discounts as
yet.

Anyway, I do thank you for your feedback. We can only improve from it.
One last thing. I believe I did not say anything bad about V-Kool's
original VK70 product. It is a very good film, just that over the years
there's been many copy-cat products that blatantly claimed to be "V-Kool"
but turned out to be sub-standard. In fact, I was defending the original
VK70 product as I had used it myself on my 1.6 Wira back in 1997 way
before I came into this industry.

Hope this clears the air abit.

Best regards,

Chris

hi venti,

thanks for your interest in our product range. i'll do my best to explain

1. air-con room ? yes, absolutely. we try to minimise the dust as much as
possible. So far no problems with dust contamination. In fact, the air-
con is to keep the humans comfortable only

2. poor guy ? really ? i assume it's a new city ? anyway, there are
many "poor guys" with new city's and i dare say they are very happy.
price we can talk off-line !

3. no chance yet to bite you ! jokes aside, i haven't bitten anyone yet
and i don't think i should start now....

drop me a line when free.

cheers !
