saw this unusual Mobil 1 in 1 US QT offered in Tesco @ only RM14.98

No API Spec but only said to exceed Mercedes Benz MB 229.51 5W-40 not made in EU but made in USA

Can it be used on most of the vehicles in Malaysia? anyone?

Can be used in Malaysia, since viscosity is 5w-40, but does this suits your car in the first place. Check your car manual, if it states 5w-40 then no problem.... smile_tongue.gif

5W-40 suits my Honda city...ESP Formula is the low sulphur and phosphorous content, hope no problem for cars in our region. Go Tesco sapu now, RM14.98 is such a good offer smile_big.gif

AFAIK, this M1 ESP is low SAPS formula meant for countries with low sulphur fuel. Our local fuel is definitely not of low suphur type. If you plan to use this, dont lengthen your OCI as this ESP's TBN might not hold that well against the acidity level increase due to high sulphur fuel.

The same hold true for other low SAPS lube being offered in Tesco and any other hypermart here for e.g Total Quartz Ineo 5w-40

For Honda City, my friends are running on 5w-30. They feel it lighter and more free revving then 5w-40.

Oh! Low sulphur, but still cheap. Even with lower mileage OCI worth it. In fact having more oil change is better then some using expensive oil and prolong the OCI.... smile_tongue.gif

Yes, no need to worry too much about our OCIs. In the US and EU, most car manufacturers recommend much longer OCIs than our 10,000 kms OCIs - if using synthetic oil. So, as long as you don't exceed 10K, you are quite safe.

The labor cost in US and EU are high. Here it is consider very cheap for an oil change. Can also DIY, but for me is where and how to get rid of the used oil, that is why I still let my mechanic do it.... smile_tongue.gif
